Stamp-n-doodle Monday!

Wow, don't you just love how holidays seem to steal your brain? I completely forgot about posting today!!! I am sooooooooo sorry! With that being said, it is Stamp-n-doodle Monday which means that I have a card to show you with one of the new May releases. The image is called Sleeping Puppy! The challenge was to use more than one punch or di-cut, plus circles. So here is what I came up with:

So, I used an EK Success border punch called Scalloped Scallops, and a small circle punch to create my background, and off course the button is a circle, plus I used a square Spellbinder's Nestibilities Di-cut to cut out the image. So I actually gave the challenge a little more than I had to, I just couldn't help myself, next to bling, Punches/di-cuts are my second favorite! Now, I have to tell you about that pretty blue crinkly ribbon on the card. I got it from the dollar bin at Michael's about 2 years ago because it just looked so pretty.......... nearly impossible to tie in a bow, let me tell you!!!!!! As you can see on my card, I gave up! It still is very pretty on a card, but I just thought I might warn you about it's bow tieing quality. Now if you are really good with bows, more power to ya. The above will be my standard format with it! Oh no, I have the same style in pink too!!!! Life goes on I guess........ Sorry about the poor quality photo, I am experiencing electrical issues in my craft room, and was in a hurry.

Ok, I had a long weekend in the sun am exhausted and burnt to a crisp, so I am off to rest. Hope on over to the other DT blogs and see the cuteness that they made with this image. I saw their cards, toooooooooooo cute!!!!!!!!!

Until next time.................Blessings, Lisa

Stamp-n-doodle Monday!

Hello and welcome to Stamp-n-doodle Monday! First I would like to apologize for being so late in posting this today, I got a phone call last night that told me that I have lost a very dear friend that has lived next door to me since 1994. She has been suffering from a Neuro-muscular disease similar to Lou Gehrics disease, and last night it attacked her heart and she did not survive. So I didn't make it back online to upload my card last night, and I have not felt well all day today. So, I am keeping this post short today, here is the card that I made with this weeks image. I hope you enjoy it! Until next time...............Blessings, Lisa

Stampin Up's Blooming with Happiness.......

Well, I don't really know if they are blooming with happiness at Stampin Up, but that is the name of the retired stamp set that I used to make a bridal shower card with. My cousin's daughter is getting married over the summer, so I first had to have a shower card ready. Her colors on her Wedding invitation were Dark Purple, Ivory, and Gold!!! Yay, anytime there is purple involved I am a happy crafter! So, here is what I created:

I stamped the image onto my versamark pad, then onto the new SU color called Concord Crush, then heat embossed it with Clear embossing powder. So, if the image looks a little blurry, sorry. I tried several angles with my camera, this was the best photo I could catch. Anyhoo, I ran a piece of Concord Crush card stock through my cuttlebug with my Petals a Plenty embossing folder, then matted it onto a piece of metallic gold card stock. Next I painted the raised dots on the pattern with some Gold Smooch metallic Shimmer paint. Next I added a little bit of organdy ribbon and a tiny flower to the piece with the stamped image and a gold sticky pearl to the center of the flower. The base of the card (SU Very Vanilla) was sprayed with a combination of Gold and Fully Purple Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angels.

Here below is a close-up to show off some of the shimmer:

Now that I have your attention, I would like to introduce the newest member of our family.....

Chibbles, the Guinea Pig!

Isn't he adorable? He is so sweet too! He is a slightly early birthday present for our daughter Amanda, who turns 12 in two weeks. I am in love with this little guy, he is so soft and sits so still when you hold and pet him.

Well, as always until next time......... Blessings, Lisa

Big Shot Di-cuts on a card

I am almost positive that I have not shown this card on my blog yet. If I have, please accept my apologies. I was asked by my friend Teri to design a card that could be used for a bridal shower invitation that she was getting ready for. I decided to have a little fun with my cuttlebug, di-cuts and embossing folders. So this is what I came up with.
I used my Stampin Up Manhattan Flower embossing folder, cut out one of the flowers and sponged some ink on the raised areas. I cut two of my SU little leaves di-cuts, and one SU/Sizzix lattice di-cut. Place it all together as you can see on the picture, and all done! Turned out that she loved it, so we sat down at her house with two Cuttlebug machines and went to work on making enough for the shower. Never underestimate what your embossing folders and di-cuts can do for your paper crafting projects, you never know what you can create with them! Use your imagination and have fun with them.

Until next time................Blessings, Lisa

Soft Pencil Tuesday!

Welcome to Soft Pencil Tuesday! We DT members are showing you creations with the new image called "Starry Night". This image is so adorable! Here is what I created with it:

I am not sure if you can see the sparkle, but the star embellishments were punched out of glitter card stock with my Stampin Up star punches. The stars on the image are colored in with Cold Smooch Shimmer Paint. The rest of the image was colored with Prismacolor markers, and then I sponged a little SU Bashful Blue ink all over the image.

Hop on over to the other DT ladies blogs (links on my sidebar) and see what cuteness they have posted for you.

Come back next week for more Soft Pencil Cuteness with another new image.

Until next time..........................Blessings, Lisa

Stamp-n-doodle Monday!!!

Welcome back to another Stamp-n-doodle DT day. We are all showing you creations made with the new image called "Mother". The SND DT ladies made some beautiful samples for you to see this week, so don't forget to go visit all of their blogs. You can find links to them on my sidebar, just scroll down a little bit. So, here is what I came up with for today:
I was still trying to keep it Vintage, and unfortunately, I forgot to place a thank you sentiment on it as we were requested to do. So, just for me, pretend the sentiment is on there. So, after coloring the image and mounting it onto some Stampin UP Pink Pirouette card stock, I distressed it a little with a sponge and some SU Close to Cocoa ink. The designer paper is from a retired Stampin Up paper pack, the trim is from the Paper Studio, purchased at Hobby Lobby. The flower is unknown as it was part of a gift from a friend. The bloue swirl at the top was made with the Sizzix Di-cut called " Scribbles Swirls". Finally the faux Pearls on the swirl are Basic Gray, which I bought from the McMahon Five Designs online store (see link on my sidebar).

My MiIitary Hero

I gave alot of thought as to whether or not to make this post, but in the end decided to do it. I am a very strong Episcopalian Christian, and believe strongly in the 10 commandments, so naturally I feel badly that the USA had to eliminate the presence of Osama Bin Laden. However, he was truly evil and I personally feel alot safer knowing he is no longer walking on the face of the earth. That being said, my nephew is among the many Navy servicemen/women that is working aboard the USS Carl Vinson aircraft carrier. The Carl Vinson is the ship that was carrying the Navy Seals that rid us forever of Osama Bin Laden. My nephew has been gone and away from his family for months and I felt that he deserved some recognition. So, thank you to the brave US Navy Seals, and all of the other US Navy personnel aboard the USS Carl Vinson, and especially to my nephew Sean for their service this week in ridding the world of the most dangerous man in the world! May you all come home safely to your loved ones and may God Bless you all!!
Here below is a photo of my nephew and his two youngest children before he left on his ship last Fall. We Love and Miss you Sean!!!!!!! Aunt Lisa

The sentiment is from the SU stamp set "Teeny Tiny Wishes", the flower embellishments are from Prima, and the flower centers are from Michael's Craft Store.
In addition to the hop, we have a challenge for you this week and it is to create a Mother's Day project. You are not required to use a Stamp-n-doodle image to play in our challenges, but if you do, you will get two entries per creation in our random.org drawing for the winner.
