It's Scrapbook Page Day at Soft Pencil Designs!

Oh my goodness, this is the first time since I have been on the Soft Pencil Design team that we have been asked to create a scrapbook page with our weekly image! I got so excited, I have been making notes on what I wanted to do for two weeks or longer. I got started in paper crafting as a scrapbooker, then a year or so after that I got invited to a Stampin Up workshop to make some cards, and I was hooked on that too. Now, if I can find a way to do it, I will add pretty paper, stamps, digi images, embellishments, etc to just about anything. Sometimes I am amazed at what some of the talented blogging ladies out there will alter with their paper crafting supplies. I know, Blah, blah, blah....... get on with the project. This first image is a snippet with the image called "Molly is giving you a flower". I colored her with a combination of Stampin Up markers, Ink refills, and blender pens. Then, I cut her out with a Spellbinder's Nestibility Circle.

Is Molly cute, or what? I love her and all of her cuteness. I added the sun that comes with a couple of other Soft Pencil Images. To create the background behind Molly, I printed her out a second time onto plain copy paper, cut her out, adhered her on top of the colored image with repositionable adhesive, left her in the Circle Nestibility, and sponged some ink around her. I love doing that! Fun, fun!

This next photo is also a snippet to show you a close-up of another Soft Pencil Digi that I added to the page, actually a handful of times. I simply enlarged the flower on Microsoft Word software, and copied it a bunch of times, and punched them all out with circle punches after coloring them. The bling in the center is supposed to be a bright yellow color, but I had trouble capturing that with my camera. Take my word for it, it is pretty bling!

Ok, now here is the final and complete scrapbook page!

I am a clean and simple scrapbooker, just like my card making style. I just can't help it, I don't like clutter. As you can see there is plenty of room from top to bottom for photos! The white flower border on the left side of the page is from Doodlebug Design, as are the yellow sticky gems on the flowers. The cute little butterfly brads are from Making Memories, all circle punches are from Stampin Up, and so is all of the card stock and designer paper. I used Pretty in Pink , Certainly Celery, Melon Mambo, and of course some watercolor paper. As always, if you have any questions please leave me a comment, or see my email link on the blog sidebar!

Until Next Time............ Blessings, Lisa

Soft Pencil Thursday!

Hello. The image that we were asked to work with this week is called "Michu's Mom", and it is an adorable image of Michu and his mom standing next to their home. There was no challenge issued to us, so I decided to make a happy birthday mom card.

I usually color Michu gray because my real kitty is gray with white feet, but today I decided I would challenge myself to step out of my comfort zone and color him in shades of tan and brown. Of course that meant that I had to use the same colors on his mom. I hope you like them. I started out using Stampin Up's Creamy Caramel (which is about to be retired by the way), then added some Close to Cocoa accents. I cut the image out with some of my Spellbinder's Nestibilities Rectangles, added a sentiment (cut out with some Stampin Up punches). Last but not least, I added some Designer paper accents and sticky gem embellishments. Oh and lets not forget that I went a little crazy rounding corners with my SU small corner rounder. Next Thursday, we are being asked to create a scrapbook page with our digi image, so don't forget to come back and visit all of the DT ladies to see what we all come up with.

One important note is to tell you that Elizabeth, owner of Soft Pencil Designs has yet again added some new stuff to her blog and store. She has created two new images, one for graduation and one with an adorable little frog on it, and she has also created some cute digi papers that can be printed on colored paper, or plain and then colored. Hop on over to her blog and see them, there is a link to it on any soft pencil image you see on my sidebar.

Last but not least, I am working on some very easy and quick Father's Day cards that you can make at the last minute that I will be posting tomorrow, Friday!

Until next time..................Blessings, Lisa

Soft Pencil Thursday!

Hello. Happy Thursday to everyone!!!! This week, we were asked to make anything but a card with our Soft Pencil image. I was going to make a scrapbook page, but later in the month we will be doing that with another image, so I decided to decorate a composition notebook. I think that I am going to add some tabs to the pages later and make an address book out of it. Not totally sure yet, it is for my daughter, and she has not decided yet.

Anyways, I was going to add some Designer paper to it, when I decided to create my own with my Ratiny image from the "animals collection" images. I inserted one into Microsoft Word, clicked on the image, then reduced it in size quite a bit, then I copied the image over and over until I had the entire page filled. Then, I took out a piece of 8-1/2" X 11" Bashful Blue Stampin Up card stock, put it into my printer and printed it out. Voila, cute little Ratiny's in blue all over the place! Ratiny and Michu are my favorite characters from Soft Pencil, so I loved working with this image. I colored the image with some Stampin Up Ink Refills and Blender pens, and added some little punched circles to follow along with the dot pattern on Ratiny's house roof. the scallop border was created with my Stampin Up Scallop border punch. The card stock colors used were Creamy Caramel, Bashful Blue, and Certainly Celery. Terrifically Tacky Tape was used to hold everything onto the composition book. The image was cut out and mounted with Spellbinders Rectangle Nestibilities. I think that says it all, if you have any questions, send me an email.

Oh my Gosh, I forgot to add a few things! First I want to welcome new Soft Pencil Design Team member, Fink, see her blog link on my sidebar. Second, I want to apol.ogize to all of the other Soft Pencil DT ladies for not visiting their blog and leaving some love on last week's image until just a day or two ago. I am having a bit of trouble adjusting to summer break having my daughter home. I think I am getting caught up though. Thanks for understanding. Third, stop on over to the Soft Pencil Blog, rumor has it that Elizabeth has some new goodies for us to see. I am going there next myself.

Until Next time...................Blessings, Lisa

Soft Pencil Thursday!

Hello. It's Soft Pencil Thursday and I am hoping that everyone enjoyed the Anniversary Blog-Hop last week. I had a blast seeing what everyone created with Soft Pencil Images.

This week, we DT members were asked to create something with the image called "My New Tiny Friends". The sun was actually part of the image, but I couldn't fit it into the opening of my largest oval nestibility die-cut, at the size that I wanted the digi image, so I decided to hand cut out the sun and pop it up with a foam dimensional.

I used my scalloped scallop border punch from EK success to make the border on the Patterned paper. Sorry, I can't remember what brand the patterned paper is because it has been in my stash for so long. The three coordinating flower embellishments were made with my Stampin Up Trio Flower Punch (which is on their retiring list). Of course I had to finish up the card with some bling from Michael's craft store. All ink and markers used are from Stampin Up, card stock colors used are Certainly Celery, and Lavender Lace.

Elizabeth has recently added some new digi images to her store, so pop on over there and see what she has to brighten your day! There is a link to the blog and store over on my sidebar.

I just wanted to make you aware that Stampin Up has published a retiring list for the current catalog as their new catalog come out July 1st. I am offering 20% off absolutely everything in the catalog and mini catalog, so drop me an email (link on my sidebar) if you would like to order something. I can do a paypal invoice if you would like me to. Also, if you would like me to email a retiring list to you, drop me an email and let me know.

Until next time......................Blessings, Lisa
