Stamp-n-doodle Wednesday
Welcome to Stamp-n-doodle Wednesday! We are having an artist feature this week. Some of the SND digi images are created by an artist named Lauren Curtis. This week, all of the Design Team ladies are using a Lauren Curtis image on our creations. Since Halloween is still coming up for us here in the US, I decided to work with the image called "Halloween Cat". With that said, here is what I made for this week:
Now visit the other DT ladies blogs for more inspiration and then join our weekly challenge over on the Stamp-n-doodle blog. The Challenge is a fan favorite "Anything Goes". You don't have to use a Stamp-n-doodle image, but if you do you get an extra entry in the challenge. Now, go, create, have fun!!!
Until Next time.............Blessings, Lisa

Stamp-n-doodle Wednesday!!!
Welcome to Stamp-n-doodle Wednesday!!!! This week I am the featured challenge coordinator and I am so excited about it. I chose Wet, or better known as heat embossing on digi images!!! Here is a card that I made with one of the new Halloween images:
Ok, I heard that some of you out there do not understand the challenge or how to do it, so I am adding some instructions here to my post. What I wanted everyone to do was to heat emboss on the actual digi image!!! Sounds strange, I know because when we usually heat emboss we do it with a traditional rubber or clear stamp and an embossing ink pad or Versa Mark Ink pad. There are two ways that you can Heat emboss on a digi image, this is what I did with the card above. I used what is called a versamarker, see photo below:
This marker has the same ink in it that the Versamark Ink pad has. It is a sticky ink that embossing powder sticks to. It has two tips on it, a brush tip and a small tip.
You simply color with it on the area that you want to emboss, in my case it was the black cat and I used Clear embossing powder. So, you color the area to be heat embossed, sprinkle on the embossing powder and heat set with a heat gun. Simple as that. Now, if you need more instruction, let me know and I will try to make another one so that I can post step by step pictures. Feel free to leave me a comment and let me know. Maybe Lynne would let me post it on the blog as a tutorial. So let me know if you need more assistance.
Now, the other method of heat embossing is the same as if you used a stamped image, you would simply stamp a versamark ink pad directly on the entire image after you have colored it and cut it out, and then add your embossing powder, heat set with your heat tool, and you are finished. You can do this with 3 or 4 layers if you like, put it into the freezer to dry, then bend it little to create cracks and give it an antique look. Use Clear Embossing powder for this method as well. Now, if you are very curious, DT member Jacki, used the second method on her card this week with the cardinal image and it is absolutely gorgeous with great photos, so go check it out!
Go visit the other DT lady's blogs and see what wonderful creations they have made to inspire you.
Until next time..........Blessings, Lisa

Soft Pencil Tuesday!!!!!!!!!!!
Welcome to Soft Pencil Tuesday!!! I am showing you the digital image called "Cute Little Bat". It is one of the completely adorable Halloween digi images that Soft Pencil has in it's store. The nice thing about Digi images is that you can copy and paste them from your computer into a MS Word Document and change the size to whatever you want. So, for today, I made them really small and printed out a sheet full of them to make my card. I saw this cute layout on Pinterest, so I cased it with my soft Pencil Bats. The sentiment is stamped with a clear stamp on Patterned paper, so I used Staz-on Ink to make sure it would not smear. Traditional ink might smear. So here is what I made, hope you like it and get inspired to make your own creations with Soft Pencil Images.
Just a side note, in case you are new to Soft Pencil, they also carry traditional clear stamps, Stickers, Rub-ons, and even fabrics!!!!! See the link on my sidebar to browse their blog and stores.
Until next time................Blessings, Lisa

Some Stampin Up Halloween and Thanksgiving!
Welcome back to my blog. I went to a Stampin Up workshop last week and made a couple of cards. Yay! I love when someone else does the design work and I just get to stamp. So, I cannot take the credit for the following cards, they were designed by my good friend, ex-SU leader, and current Stampin Up demonstrator...Teri Frietch! She does not have a blog, so I occasionally post her stuff here on my blog!
The first card that we made is a Halloween card. The stamp set is called Festive & Fun from the current SU Holiday Mini catalog. There are three stamps in the set, one for Christmas, one for Valentine's Day and this one for Halloween:

The next card is a Thanksgiving card and I apologize, but I cannot seem to find the name of the Stamp sets that these stamps are from. If I do find out, I will edit this post. I love the layout of the card, hope it inspires you to get crafting.

Now, keep coming back and visiting me because I went nuts with a card sketch from the clean and simple blog that I will be posting sometime on Thursday! I just can't stop making cards with this one. There is a link to their blog on my sidebar if you want a sneak peek of the sketch.
Until Next time...............Blessings, Lisa

Hello and Happy Tuesday to everyone! Today is Soft Pencil Day! It is kind of a dark dreary, and very windy day here in Ohio. In fact, I just had to go shut all of my windows because it is now pouring down rain! Phew, the wind was blowing it in and getting my furniture wet. Yuck! However, the upside is that we so needed this rain, everything is brown and dead.
Anyhoo, We DT ladies got to work with the image called "Michu and the Cute Witch" this week! They are a cute pair , don't you think?
I went completely blank on how to design my card! So, I got out my designer paper and cutting tools, and thought....hmmmm...... circles. So, I cut out some circles at random sizes and voila, the card above was created! I then punched out a bat with my Martha Stewart bat punch, because I love it so much, and placed it on one of the circles. Of course I had some black sticky gems, so I had to add those. Love my sticky gems!
So, hop on over to the other DT member's blogs and the Soft Pencil blog and see what other cuteness you can find today! I promise, there will be lots of cuteness!
Until next time......... Blessings, Lisa

Stamp n Doodle Thursday!
Hello, and Happy Thursday! Yes, I am late today which seems to be the story of my life this week. Anyhoo, we Stamp-n-doodle design team members had an adorable Halloween image to work with this week. I forget the name, so I am going to go with Witch's Shoes. We were challenged to emboss, use a bat and add glitter. So, I tried heat embossing on a digi image for the first time, and I added glitter to the bat that I used! I had fun making this, I hope you enjoy looking at it.
Until next time..............Blessings, Lisa

Soft Pencil Tuesday!!!!
Hello, Happy Tuesday to every one of you! Have you ever had one of those days when you just can't seem to get our brain to work? That is me, today! First off, I completely forgot that today is Soft Pencil Day on my blog, I was thinking it was still Thursday! Then, I go to take a photo of my card for today and my camera batteries were dead, so I was scrambling around for batteries. I feel like asking the Lord for a re-start on the day! Anyhoo......Here is what I have for you today. Elizabeth of Soft Pencil created an absolutely adorable image of Michu the cat and Ratiny the mouse dressed up as mummies, and We DT members are SUPPOSED to create a Halloween card with it today! I tried to keep it cute and creepy at the same time! Didi I achieve that?
Until Next time...........Blessings, Lisa

I am back with Stamp-n-doodle
Hello! I am so late today with Stamp-n-doodle, please accept my apologies everyone, especially the fabulously understanding Stamp-n-doodle peeps! We are showing off a Halloween image called "Dancing Queen". It is a hilarious image of a witch dancing with a silly mummy. I love it! We were also asked as a challenge to NOT use orange or black. Wow, that turned out to be harder than I thought it would be. My "Halloween" brain kept me going back to orange or black every time I wanted to do something with my creation. I did print the image in black, I hope that was ok. I finally decided to go with purple and green color scheme.
I colored the image with the following Stampin Up markers: Lovely Lilac, Lavender Lace, Elegant Eggplant Old Olive, Always Artichoke, and Sahara Sand on the mummy. Then, I cut it out with a square Spellbinder's Nestibility, and sponged some SU Going Gray ink around the two dancers. Then I ran one of my Halloween Cuttlebug embossing folders through, with some DCWV card stock, as it has a white center layer in it and I wanted to sand the raised portions a little bit. Then I added some dark purple ribbon from my stash (clearance section at Archiver's). My last thought was to put some tiny googlie eyes on the embossed areas of the background. that sums it up! Now, go visit the stamp-n-doodle blog tomorrow, to see if this image is offered to you for free! Go visit the other DT members and see what cute ideas they have come up with with this image! See my sidebar for links.
Now, since I am late with this post today, I shall leave it up all day tomorrow too at the top of my blog and post a Stampin Up card on Saturday instead of tomorrow.
Blessings, Lisa
