Cased a card by Kerry

Yep, You got it, I cased a card. Like all of you never do that!!! LOL. I have a very talented friend named Kerry, she is one of the sweetest peeps that I have ever met. She chats with me on facebook, she tries to call me on the phone (sorry I wasn't available that day like I thought I would be), she even sends me little crafty stuff in the mail sometimes. Love ya Kerry!!! Anyhoo, last summer, yep, that long ago, I decided to case one of the cards on her blog. I even used some of the paper that she sent to me one time. Yep, was going great, then............I moved. Well, that card got temporarily misplaced in a box under some crafty supplies. tee hee. I found it recently, and so here I am to post it to show you! I so loved the simplicity of it. Here is a link to her blog post, click here.

Here is my card:

I didn't have the exact same flower as Kerry used, so I used a sizzix daisies di-cut, and added some DCWV buttons. I am thinking that a Butterfly or two would look good with this layout too. hmmmm..........

Anyhoo, love this sketch, go visit Kerry's blog and check her card out, and to get to her most recent post from the link, click on her blog title at the top.

Until next time..........Blessings, Lisa

Soft Pencil Tuesday!!!

Hello everyone and welcome to Soft Pencil Tuesday!!! It is 3am here in Ohio, and I can't sleep, so I might as well be crafting and blogging. Silly me. Anyhoo, We DT ladies are showing you creations this week with the new image called "Charmy on a Cupcake", and she is so cute! Here is what I made with it:

So, what do you think? Yep, me too, I thought that Charmy's wings needed some Stickles on them, but I forgot, and after the horrible time I have capturing a good photo, I gave up on the idea. I took a couple of photos under a light, not good tonight, the card looked jaundiced, like when your skin is yellowed. Yucky!!! so, I moved it to my black keyboard where the lighting stinks, and wow, got a better photo. Strange, huh? It's amazing what different types of lighting can do to a photograph, and I should have remembered this back from 1993 when I was in college and took that photography course. Yep, just like I remember all of that Calculus, etc........ Ok, hopefully I have you laughing by now, but if not, so sorry.

Go visit the other DT ladies and see what cuteness they are posting with this adorable image today, and then rush right on over to the Soft Pencil store and buy some digi images, because they will be closing August 1st!!!

Then........come back and visit me next Tuesday because I will be showing you something made with Ratiny on a cupcake!!!!! Love him!!!!!!!

Until next time................Blessings, Lisa

Soft Pencil Tuesday!

Welcome to Soft Pencil Tuesday! This week we DT ladies are showing you creations made with the new image called "Amy on a Cupcake"! Isn't she a cutie? I couldn't resist using some lavender stickles on the icing, and trying a new color combo that I have never used before.... Purple and Green. I saw the ribbon on the card at Michael's Craft store a while back and snatched it up, now I had to put it to use. Hope you like it!

I think this image would make an adorable birthday card for a little girl, but would look great on party invitations, thinking of you cards, miss you cards, you get the idea....

Hop on over to the other DT blogs and see what cute things they have created with this image, then hop on over to the Soft Pencil blog and store and snatch up the cupcake collection and many other cute images.

Until next time..........................Blessings, Lisa

Thursday, February 24, 2011

Wow! I can't believe that it is Thursday already! This week is going by way too fast! But, we have another issue of Stamp-n-doodle Thursday to share with you! The image is called "Kiss a lot of Frogs". It has a valentine theme to it, but being tired of Valentine's Day, I decided that it would make a cute birthday card for a little girl. Our little girl is all dressed up in a princess dress, a dream of most little girls. So, I colored her dress blue, added some stickles to parts of it, painted her crown and the first Frog's crown with Smooch shimmer paint, and followed the sketch challenge for this week.

and......Voila

Hope you like it!!! Until next time....................Blessings, Lisa

Soft Pencil Tuesday!

Happy Tuesday to everyone! I hope everyone is having fabulous holidays, whichever ones you celebrate! I had a great Christmas. We are a bit tight on money, but my fabulous hubby still managed to get me an awesome present, and of course it was something that I can use in papercrafting. He got me one of those new Martha Stewart Punch all over the page punches! Not the border punches that allow you to punch the corners too, it is a single punch, that you can use in the middle of a sheet of 12 x12 scrapbook page if you want. I will have to play with it and show you what it can do, that is once I figure out what it can do. haha. Kidding, it looks easy, we shall see.

On to the business of today!!!!!! You all know by now that I absolutely love Soft Pencil images, this weeks image is no exception. It is called "Ratiny on a Cupcake"....it even sounds cute. Here is what I made with it:

Have you ever heard anyone in the papercrafting industry use the phrase "let your designer paper do the work for you"? Well, that is what I did with this image. I colored the image with some Prismacolor markers and some teal Smooch shimmer paint, cut it out with some Rectangle Nestibilities, and then went through my paper stash to see what I could find. I found the above cupcake paper that I thought would be perfect for the image. Yes, the strip on the left is part of the paper, not a real ribbon! So cool, don't ya think? I added my image, a punched out sentiment, some sticky gems, and all done. It was so easy.

Now, We DT members and the Soft Pencil Owner are taking a vacation during the month of January, but I understand that the Etsy store will still be open for you to purchase images from. Elizabeth is working very hard on new products and images and I imagine there will be an awesome grand re-opening when she is finished. I can't wait to see what she is working on!

To Elizabeth, thanks for a great year working with your adorable images and papers! I loved every minute of it, and look forward to working with your new products in 2011! Hugs! Lisa

To my blog readers, please keep checking back, I will still be posting cards, scrapbook pages, and anything else that I feel inspired to make during the month of January!

Blessings to all...............................Lisa
