Hello Everyone! Wow, long time no post for me, right? Well, it was official in February, I finished my Bachelor of Science in Computer IT/Information Management! So now I have two Bachelors degrees and no job, does not sound quite right, does it? Wish me luck and even say some prayers for me to find the right job soon. In the meantime to keep me sane, I am crafting a bunch of cards, and decided I had better start showing them off.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is a cute digi image is from 2 Cute Ink, a link to them can be found on the side bar of this blog. I am not sure if this particular digi image is still available, but they have a ton of others just as cute. If it is not, drop her a message and ask if she will add it back to her shop. I used a variety of supplies, the banners are some DSP from my stash and i have no idea where they came from, the rest of the card stock is from Stampin Up. Speaking of DSP, their new catalog has some gorgeous paper in it, check it out! I colored the owl with a combination of Copic and Stampin UP Markers, so sorry I forget which ones. The cards I am going to be posting for the next week or two I have made over the past year and so I apologize for not knowing the exact supplies used. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Well, I am off for now, my next post will have a card made with Sister Stamps, they are completely adorable Asian stamps, I wish I was working so I could buy some more of them. Seriously, check them out, there is a link on my sidebar of my blog of course. You will love them!</div>

I have been so busy that I didn't even post my mother's day cards for you to see, please accept my apologies on that. I have some quick Father's day card ideas for you. I have a hard time with masculine cards as many ladies do, so I could not skip posting these. One is for my dad and the other is for my daughter to give to my hubby. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This one is obviously for my dad. The funny thing is that I bought this stamp set from Just for Fun Stamp Company to use in scrapbooking to create titles for pages, but found that some of them work great on cards as well. With the words dad, father and Grandfather on it, it works great for all of us to send it. The background stamp is from Hero Arts, love their background stamps! The little star embellishments are Martha Stewart. The twine of course is from Doodle Bug Design. Here is the next card:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Similar layout, different stamps. These stamps are from an Inkadinkado alphabet stamp set that was a gift from a friend. I then punched them out with a retired Stampin Up punch, I forget what is called, but it is a kind of wonky square shape. Well, that is it for today. Have a great father's day!<br />
<br />
Until next time..................blessings, LisaLisa Athahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04025051741079424462noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1044892234369304481.post-49657891006071480212014-04-20T17:21:00.002-04:002014-06-13T19:41:41.102-04:00He is Risen!!!!!! Happy Easterhello, I hope this Easter Sunday finds all of you healthy and happy. A few months ago I purchased a cute little stamp set of crosses, the brand is from Inkadinkado. I thought Easter would be an appropriate time to start inking them up. Here is what I made with one of them:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Ok, I loaded the inside photo first, oops. Trying to cook Easter dinner, so no time to try and fix. The card stock is Stampin Up, except for the glittery card stock which is Die Cuts with a View, and let me tell you it is awesome, the glitter does not rub off, even when you use punches with it. Love it. The embossing folder is Darice and the ink is of course Stampin Up. Love it. Ok, off to check on dinner.</div>

I have a great niece and nephew that live out on the West Coast and I am in Ohio, so I sent them each a little treat and a handmade card. They are little tykes in Kindergarten and First Grade, my sweet angels Tristin and London. Tristin loves Lego's and London loves Hello Kitty, two things that I adored when I was a kid also. So, I had a great time making these cards. I hope you like them. Yes, Trisitn's name on the front is meant to be jumbled and not lined up evenly. Here they are:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I cut out the rectangles on the lego card and used a 1/2" circle punch for the dots, and a white prismacolor pencil to add a little depth to them. The letter stamps are from a retired Stampin Up set.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The hello Kitty card was made with some Sizzix Di-cuts, a Stampin Up trio flower punch, and a Spellbinder's label di-cut. I forget which label, sorry. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
To my sweet little angels I just want to tell you once again, that even though I live so far away, I love you very much!!!! Have a very happy and fun Easter and be good kids for your mom!!</div>

I even forgot how to use blogger it has been so long. I have been super busy trying to get a new bachelors degree, yes I have one already, but have not been able to find a job using it for years. So, I am trying a new field. I have less than a year to go to earn a degree in Database Administration. Yay! I can hardly wait! <br />
<br />
In my spare time, of course i have been crafting. I have also been dabbling with some new company's' stamps. Today I bring a baby gift card using a digital image from <a href="http://www.2cuteink.com/blog.html">2 Cute Ink</a>. Just click on their name and you can see their blog and store. Her images are way too cute for words. So without any further delays, here is my card:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_BocfleHGgHApp-Gl9dFTflvFeABQn6VB9VdIlX1dATv9DwZrX_ooYx8BonxdMIfSG1HnvUxDkka3bhSXsz8y3tPWwGfbsFXOt8uRDqwV9HwFp_uvzImhUbCZmeAHlIr_AYDuzldO4Yc/s1600/Patchwork+Turtle+1_lisaatha46@@@.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_BocfleHGgHApp-Gl9dFTflvFeABQn6VB9VdIlX1dATv9DwZrX_ooYx8BonxdMIfSG1HnvUxDkka3bhSXsz8y3tPWwGfbsFXOt8uRDqwV9HwFp_uvzImhUbCZmeAHlIr_AYDuzldO4Yc/s1600/Patchwork+Turtle+1_lisaatha46@@@.JPG" height="251" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
I am not 100% sure if she still has this image available, but she has a Facebook page and if you want an image that she does not have in her store, ask her to put it there, maybe she will do that for you. <br />
<br />
Well, that is all for today. Please come back and tell your friends about my blog, I am afraid that my long absence has taken away a few of my followers and that makes me sad. I have quite a stash of new cards made just waiting to be posted though, so I will be back!!!!!!!!!<br />
<br />
P.S. Did you know that the word "Facebook" is in the spell check dictionary on blogger? LOL, I have been away too long, that shocked the bazoodles out of me.<br />
<br />
Until next time.............Blessings, LisaLisa Athahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04025051741079424462noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1044892234369304481.post-50617151970300389952013-07-04T19:54:00.002-04:002013-07-04T19:54:57.794-04:00Happy 4th of JulyHappy 4th of July to everyone here in the USA. Literally, it is little, it is a 3x3 mini card. I punched a couple of Martha Stewart Hearts (gotta love her paper punches), an EK Success border punch, and a few Recollections faux pearls to top it off. Inside a stamped sentiment. Enjoy your day!!!

I got so tired of the pressures of my DT assignments, that I was having creative blocks, and absolutely dreaded writing blog posts. Plus, the big picture is that I have returned to school to get a different Bachelors degree. I say different because I already have a BS in Architecture, but there are just too many people in that field and not even close to enough jobs, even when the rest of the economy is doing well here in the US, the Architectural field is struggling. So, I am now pursuing a BS in Computer IT/Information Management, which means that I can be an IT Manager or a Database Administrator when I finish. This is keeping me very busy to say the least, and harder than I expected it to be, but it is a growing field, so I am keeping my eyes on the prize and am doing the best that I can.
Now, Elizabeth, owner of Soft Pencil Studios, closed her digi image shop and eliminated the Design Team, however, her absolutely adorable images are being made into Clear stamp sets, and they are awesome!!!! I have been using them with Memento Ink pads, and they are stamping great images! I have been playing around with the stamp set "Garden of Friends" set and I have some quick and easy cards to show you that I made with them. We are having an artist feature this week. Some of the SND digi images are created by an artist named Lauren Curtis. This week, all of the Design Team ladies are using a Lauren Curtis image on our creations. Since Halloween is still coming up for us here in the US, I decided to work with the image called "Halloween Cat". With that said, here is what I made for this week:
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgoFVYIYQObCCR_qU2HbrzOyH30nXuW1X8y5n4Azn_t7bjcSS5aBkE3TKDuctbF-soQcwnmUKzY4PG32URuoKvH4tzOV_v0Le3wOC857pX0zP5mmCNmXLwPf6GfFT_YmVoXmEWamEac7_Q/s1600/Halloween+Cat+1_lisaatha44%2540%2540%2540%2540.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="247" width="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgoFVYIYQObCCR_qU2HbrzOyH30nXuW1X8y5n4Azn_t7bjcSS5aBkE3TKDuctbF-soQcwnmUKzY4PG32URuoKvH4tzOV_v0Le3wOC857pX0zP5mmCNmXLwPf6GfFT_YmVoXmEWamEac7_Q/s320/Halloween+Cat+1_lisaatha44%2540%2540%2540%2540.JPG" /></a></div>
Now visit the other DT ladies blogs for more inspiration and then join our weekly challenge over on the Stamp-n-doodle blog. The Challenge is a fan favorite "Anything Goes". You don't have to use a Stamp-n-doodle image, but if you do you get an extra entry in the challenge. Now, go, create, have fun!!!
Until Next time.............Blessings, Lisa

This week I am the featured challenge coordinator and I am so excited about it. I chose Wet, or better known as heat embossing on digi images!!! Here is a card that I made with one of the new Halloween images:
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwkZFI_7HnQ92JvVw6bbVEy6xf1U7EioOOHznKXZ-DQdMgPe3Z_O3eKKpM08WTxySlU2LKq9UZmHyTK48IlNgPbRhr3c_o_Ofn_J9ixd89uWCKGn8n5J2pcCqJN1qNpADQ-USa6FzzsUw/s1600/Whiches+Shoes+2_lisaatha44%2540%2540%2540.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="247" width="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwkZFI_7HnQ92JvVw6bbVEy6xf1U7EioOOHznKXZ-DQdMgPe3Z_O3eKKpM08WTxySlU2LKq9UZmHyTK48IlNgPbRhr3c_o_Ofn_J9ixd89uWCKGn8n5J2pcCqJN1qNpADQ-USa6FzzsUw/s320/Whiches+Shoes+2_lisaatha44%2540%2540%2540.JPG" /></a></div>
Ok, I heard that some of you out there do not understand the challenge or how to do it, so I am adding some instructions here to my post. What I wanted everyone to do was to heat emboss on the actual digi image!!! Sounds strange, I know because when we usually heat emboss we do it with a traditional rubber or clear stamp and an embossing ink pad or Versa Mark Ink pad. There are two ways that you can Heat emboss on a digi image, this is what I did with the card above. I used what is called a versamarker, see photo below:
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0eIbNNUiJuUewEBzG0ylP6wwPWMEtCEFUpk99lCCqg6Y05rKzywAVKAsa-DWkfJgpgSAqRUTdAEbtQPBl9yd7lCmlXd00zQYkqxzcHYLABZM8NxoSLeL3oCW1m8z0FQC7X_Lhnj257Ao/s1600/DSCN2922.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="46" width="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0eIbNNUiJuUewEBzG0ylP6wwPWMEtCEFUpk99lCCqg6Y05rKzywAVKAsa-DWkfJgpgSAqRUTdAEbtQPBl9yd7lCmlXd00zQYkqxzcHYLABZM8NxoSLeL3oCW1m8z0FQC7X_Lhnj257Ao/s320/DSCN2922.JPG" /></a></div>
This marker has the same ink in it that the Versamark Ink pad has. It is a sticky ink that embossing powder sticks to. It has two tips on it, a brush tip and a small tip.
You simply color with it on the area that you want to emboss, in my case it was the black cat and I used Clear embossing powder. So, you color the area to be heat embossed, sprinkle on the embossing powder and heat set with a heat gun. Simple as that. Now, if you need more instruction, let me know and I will try to make another one so that I can post step by step pictures. Feel free to leave me a comment and let me know. Maybe Lynne would let me post it on the blog as a tutorial. So let me know if you need more assistance.
Now, the other method of heat embossing is the same as if you used a stamped image, you would simply stamp a versamark ink pad directly on the entire image after you have colored it and cut it out, and then add your embossing powder, heat set with your heat tool, and you are finished. You can do this with 3 or 4 layers if you like, put it into the freezer to dry, then bend it little to create cracks and give it an antique look. Use Clear Embossing powder for this method as well. Now, if you are very curious, DT member <a href="http://scullduggery-cardsbyjacki.blogspot.co.uk/2012/10/lets-get-wet.html">Jacki</a>, used the second method on her card this week with the cardinal image and it is absolutely gorgeous with great photos, so go check it out!
Go visit the other DT lady's blogs and see what wonderful creations they have made to inspire you.
Until next time..........Blessings, Lisa Lisa Athahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04025051741079424462noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1044892234369304481.post-88493220766787159752012-10-09T12:00:00.000-04:002012-10-09T18:26:46.493-04:00Soft Pencil Tuesday!!!!!!!!!!!Welcome to Soft Pencil Tuesday!!! I am showing you the digital image called "Cute Little Bat". It is one of the completely adorable Halloween digi images that Soft Pencil has in it's store. The nice thing about Digi images is that you can copy and paste them from your computer into a MS Word Document and change the size to whatever you want. So, for today, I made them really small and printed out a sheet full of them to make my card. I saw this cute layout on Pinterest, so I cased it with my soft Pencil Bats. The sentiment is stamped with a clear stamp on Patterned paper, so I used Staz-on Ink to make sure it would not smear. Traditional ink might smear. So here is what I made, hope you like it and get inspired to make your own creations with Soft Pencil Images.

The challenge this week is to use something recycled on your creation. I used some ribbon that was on my husband's birthday present that he received from his place of work.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiF4vrGlwMGlOdzTGr8_X-HQBmnGpZkNesPJrWyvUKOEvLGvg4bSDEy_KTkIZ0mbbpuKb8ySa6X5PKE7eJvydeGOSk6IsEhckMHsuwVxR8kfVFKFLs2VE3R_gVm7TATBjTNS2p1LvReafA/s1600/Pumpkins+1_lisaatha44%2540%2540%2540.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="252" width="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiF4vrGlwMGlOdzTGr8_X-HQBmnGpZkNesPJrWyvUKOEvLGvg4bSDEy_KTkIZ0mbbpuKb8ySa6X5PKE7eJvydeGOSk6IsEhckMHsuwVxR8kfVFKFLs2VE3R_gVm7TATBjTNS2p1LvReafA/s320/Pumpkins+1_lisaatha44%2540%2540%2540.JPG" /></a></div>
What can you recycle? Some fabric from a worn out shirt or pants, boxes, buttons from an old shirt, use your imagination!!! Remember that you don't have to use a Stamp-n-doodle image, but if you do, you get an extra entry in the challenge. Have fun with it!
Until Next time............Blessings, Lisa
