I'm back
to blogging. I got so tired of the pressures of my DT assignments, that I was having creative blocks, and absolutely dreaded writing blog posts. Plus, the big picture is that I have returned to school to get a different Bachelors degree. I say different because I already have a BS in Architecture, but there are just too many people in that field and not even close to enough jobs, even when the rest of the economy is doing well here in the US, the Architectural field is struggling. So, I am now pursuing a BS in Computer IT/Information Management, which means that I can be an IT Manager or a Database Administrator when I finish. This is keeping me very busy to say the least, and harder than I expected it to be, but it is a growing field, so I am keeping my eyes on the prize and am doing the best that I can.
Now, Elizabeth, owner of Soft Pencil Studios, closed her digi image shop and eliminated the Design Team, however, her absolutely adorable images are being made into Clear stamp sets, and they are awesome!!!! I have been using them with Memento Ink pads, and they are stamping great images! I have been playing around with the stamp set "Garden of Friends" set and I have some quick and easy cards to show you that I made with them. Plus, I have a few more on my table in the works for another day. Here is what I have created so far:
Don't you love the stamp images? I want every set she has, and just wait until my tax refund comes, I am shopping!!! There is a link to where you can purchase Elizabeth's stamps on my sidebar, and it is called Latina Crafter, just click on the logo and you will get there. I have been bugging Elizabeth to bring some of her other cute images into sets, so hopefully in the future we will see more of her adorable artwork in the store!!!!! Keep watching my blog for Some more Soft Pencil Cuteness and anything else my brain decides to create..
Until next time.............Blessings, Lisa

Soft Pencil Tuesday? or Wednesday?
Yay, welcome back, and guess what? I think I found my crafting mojo! Lets see how long it stays with me. LOL. I am such a dummy head this week because Soft Pencil Studios is have their 3rd Blog hop and all of us DT ladies are to participate, well, I assumed that because we are hopping on Friday that we were not posting on Tuesday! Wrong! Please accept my apologies. So, I am trying to redeem my self with the following creation:

This is "Charmy", isn't she cute? I knew I had some adorable papers by Heidi Swapp, (not sure if I spelled her name correctly) that would be perfect with this image. There are little fairies, flowers, ladybugs, etc on them. Love it! Charmy is colored with a combination of Lavender Smooch paint, prismacolor markers and a copic marker. The sketch is based loosely on last week's Splitcoaststampers sketch SC380. I moved one of the circles though.
Now, please don't forget about Friday's blog hop, start out at the Soft Pencil Blog and go hopping from there! You will find wonderful inspiration, have fun and maybe even win a prize!!!!!
Until next time...........Blessings, Lisa

Stamp-n-doodle Tuesday!
Hello. Welcome to Stamp-n-doodle Tuesday, where the challenge this week is "April Showers and/or Spring Flowers". I chose to go with Spring Flowers. Here is what I came up with:

Visit the other DT ladies blogs and leave them some much deserved love, then hop over to the Stamp-n-doodle blog and join in the weekly challenge. You don't have to use an SND image, but if you do, you get and extra entry to win free digi images.
Come back and visit me later today too, for some Soft Pencil inspiration, now if you will excuse me, I have to go get some sleep and then look for my crafting mojo. I seem to have lost it, it has to be around here somewhere............hmmmmmmmmmmm.

Soft Pencil Tuesday!
Welcome to Soft Pencil Tuesday! I have been without power today, thank heavens things are back to normal. What did people do before electricity was invented? So glad I didn't experience that! Anyhoo, we got to work with another adorable image created by Elizabeth of Soft Pencil Studios! The image is called "Growing flowers in Pots". Isn't it cute? Love it!!!
I colored the image with a combination of Stampin Up markers and a couple of Prismacolor pencils. I cut it out, then mounted it on a Spellbinder's Labels Six Di-cut that I ran through my cuttlebug. The sentiment is on a smaller Labels Six di-cut and stamped with a stamp from the Stampin Up set "Teeny Tiny Wishes". The ribbon is from the Violet Shashes collection of ki Memories. I am sorry but I don't remember where the flowers came from, but their rhinestone centers are from Michael's Craft Store. The paper is either by Stampin Up or Provo Craft.
Now, hop on over to visit the other DT member's blogs and leave them a friendly comment, then over to the Soft Pencil Studios blog and store and see what other fabulous products that Elizabeth sells with her adorable characters on them.

Soft Pencil Tuesday!
Hello! Welcome to another Soft Pencil Tuesday!! We are showing you our creations with the new image called "Charming Flowers"! I love this image, it is so versatile. You can use it for Mother's day, Female Birthday, Thinking of you, etc...
Now, forgive me please as I am hopelessly hooked lately on the green and pink color combo! See, fellow DT member, Kerry, sent me a green and pink paper sample awhile back, and once I used it on a card with a Soft Pencil image, I got hooked. Yep, Kerry, it's all your fault! LOL. The DP you are seeing on this card, however, I purchased myself. It is by Heidi Grace, and so adorable! You can't see on the photo, but the flowers are embossed/glittered. Notice on the fairy wings I added some stickles glitter (miaght be hard to see that too).
Now, hop on over to visit all the other SP DT ladies and see what wonderful creations they have to show you! Then, hop on over to the Soft Pencil Blog and store and see all the wonderful goodies that Elizabeth has created for you to enjoy!
Until next time.............Blessings, Lisa

Soft Pencil Tuesday!!!
Welcome to Soft Pencil Day, and a little inspiration with one of the new releases from last week!!!!! We are showing you samples today with the new image called "Watering My Garden"! Elizabeth's images just keep getting more and more cute! Of course, I couldn't resist using purple and yellow, my favorite color combo!
I used Prismacolor marker, Light Peach, to color the skin tone, and the rest was colored with some Prismacolor pencils. Then, I know it is hard to see, but I used some purple Stickles to fill in the hair bows and the flower she is watering. I cut and matted the image with my rectangle and scalloped rectangle nestibilities. The DP background paper was cut with my SU/Sizzix Bigx Clear Large Scallop Square di-cut. I ran the di-cut through once, shifted the paper by two scallops, ran it through the Cuttlebug again, thus giving me a rectangle instead of a square. If anyone is confused by that instruction feel free to tell me in comments or via email and I will post a short photo tutorial on it tomorrow. Moving on, I added a little scrap of purple under the one corner, so that the yellows didn't blend together too much, some Prima Flowers with sticky gem centers, a few more sticky gems at the bottom, and it was finished. Sounds complicated, but it was really a pretty fast card to make. Come back for next week's Soft Pencil DT showcase of another new image called "Charming Flowers". Now run your cursor over the DT names in my blog sidebar, click and visit the other DT members to see what cute inspiration they have created for you!!! I am off......Until next time........Blessings, Lisa
