He is Risen!!!!!! Happy Easter

hello, I hope this Easter Sunday finds all of you healthy and happy.  A few months ago I purchased a cute little stamp set of crosses, the brand is from Inkadinkado.  I thought Easter would be an appropriate time to start inking them up.  Here is what I made with one of them:

Ok, I loaded the inside photo first, oops.  Trying to cook Easter dinner, so no time to try and fix.  The card stock is Stampin Up, except for the glittery card stock which is Die Cuts with a View, and let me tell you it is awesome, the glitter does not rub off, even when you use punches with it.  Love it.  The embossing folder is Darice and the ink is of course Stampin Up.  Love it.  Ok, off to check on dinner.

Until next time..........Blessings,     Lisa

Easter Cards for the kiddos

I cannot believe Easter is almost here!!!  I have a great niece and nephew that live out on the West Coast and I am in Ohio, so I sent them each a little treat and a handmade card.  They are little tykes in Kindergarten and First Grade, my sweet angels Tristin and London.  Tristin loves Lego's and London loves Hello Kitty, two things that I adored when I was a kid also.  So, I had a great time making these cards.  I hope you like them.  Yes, Trisitn's name on the front is meant to be jumbled and not lined up evenly.  Here they are:

I cut out the rectangles on the lego card and used a 1/2" circle punch for the dots, and a white prismacolor pencil to add a little depth to them.  The letter stamps are from a retired Stampin Up set.

The hello Kitty card was made with some Sizzix Di-cuts, a Stampin Up trio flower punch, and a Spellbinder's label di-cut.  I forget which label, sorry.

To my sweet little angels I just want to tell you once again, that even though I live so far away, I love you very much!!!!  Have a very happy and fun Easter and be good kids for your mom!!

Until next time..........Blessings,   Lisa

Soft Pencil Tuesday!

Yay! Another Soft Pencil Studios Tuesday! Soon, Elizabeth will have her new stamps, papers, and more for sale! Yay! While we are waiting, she has already loaded her new Digi images in her store. So, here is a sample this week using the image called "Easter Chick". Love it! So cute!

Of course I had to use my favorite color combination...purple, yellow, green. I found an old stash of eyelets and brads that I have had for years and I couldn't resist using them. Of course would it be complete without some of the newest obsession here is the US....Twine? Nope, had to use that too! Twine is pretty cheep too, you get a lot of it for your money. I figured out that Doodlebug Design's price is approx. 12 cents per yard. Not bad, huh? It comes in so many awesome colors too. ok, now you know I am obsessed with it. Moving on.....lol.

Please go visit the other DT lady's blogs, I have links on my blog sidebar for you. Leave the ladies some much deserved love and then go visit the Soft Pencil Blog and get your own digi images, they are all way too cute for words!

If you are looking for the Stamp-n-doodle Easter Blog Hop, scroll down.

Stamp-n-doodle Easter Blog Hop!

Welcome to an Easter Blog Hop from Stamp-n-doodle, you should be arriving here from Vickie's blog. If you haven't visited Vickie yet, click on the link that I provided and go visit her for the clue and inspiration that she left for all of you.

I used an image called "Easter Duck", so cute with the little human face inside that costume. I have to admit, I have been wanting to use that gorgeous flowery background paper on my card for so long, and after I colored my image, I realized it would be perfect for this card. A friend of mine gave it to me a couple of years ago, love it! The ribbon on the left is from the Michael's dollar bin, the button is from Doodlebug, the little Egg eyelets have been in my stash for years and the twine is also from Doodlebug design.

My Bunny Hop clue is EGG.

I hope you have enjoyed your visit to my blog, keep hopping, you should be visiting Anne-Marie next. Have fun hopping and have a great Easter Weekend!

Come back later this morning for Soft Pencil Tuesday!

Until next time.............Blessings, Lisa

Soft Pencil Studios is back!!!!!

Hey Welcome to Soft Pencil Day! We DT ladies are showing you creations today with the image "Michu and Ratiny Painting Eggs". Love it!!!! Please bear with me today, I could not for the life of me get a good photo of my card, I so need one of those little photo studios. lol. Anyhoo, here it is:

Too much blue tones I think. Oh well, is the image adorable or what? Of course I had to color Michu to look like my missing gray kitty, Mittens. She was gray with white paws, white above her nose and a white belly. I colored the eggs with Smooch shimmer paint, and oh my gosh did the camera ever capture the shimmer. All card stock and ribbon is from Stampin Up, the flowers were a gift with no label. The brad is Making Memories, the twine is from "The Twinery", and the charm is unknown as well.

Now, go visit the other DT ladies blogs and leave them some much deserved love and if you are looking for today's Stamp-n-doodle, scroll down a little. Also, go check out the Soft Pencil store (click on the company logo on my sidebar)and see the following Easter collection!! Love them all!!!!!!

Until next time..........Blessings, Lisa

Stamp-n-doodle Monday!

Can you believe it is Monday again already? Can you also believe that this is holy week on the Christian calendar? Easter is this coming weekend! Time sure flies by fast sometimes! With that being said, I have an image form Stamp-n-doddle with an Easter theme called "Easter Bunny". So, here is my Easter card made with it:

Now, would you also believe that I don't have even one piece of Easter themed paper? I was shocked about that myself! So, please pardon the substitute of polka dots and flowers! I don't even know the manuf. of the paper, sorry. The polka dot paper was from my stash from a long-time ago, and the flower DP was a gift from my fellow Soft Pencil DT member, Kerry. Thanks again Kerry! Anyhoo, the image was mounted on retired Stampin Up paper Almost Amethyst, and current Whisper White. I colored the image with Stampin Up markers and the bunny tail with white Smooch shimmer paint.

Now, off to craft some more.

Until next time.................Blessings, Lisa

Stamp-n-doodle Day

Well, My daughter is on Spring break this week, and so my brain is confused and I completely forgot about Stamp-n-doodle day!!!! Please accept my apologies!!! Last week, I had a computer virus that had me down for a few days, so I am sharing two SND cards with you today....last week's challenge and this weeks challenge. We were asked to use only bright, bold colors. That one is sometimes difficult for me, but I did my very best. This first image is called "Sounds of Spring". I thought it was multi purposeful, so I left the sentiment off of it until I decide what I want to use it for. It could be a friendship card, thinking of you, missing you, female birthday....you get the idea.
Here are the products that I used to make it with:
Cardstock~SU Crumb Cake, Melon Mambo, Pacific Point, unknown DP

Ink~ SU markers Riding Hood Red, DAffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Wild Wasabi, Pacific Point, Marina Mist, Crumb Cake, Tangerine Tango.

Tools~ Rectangle, and Scallop Rectangle Nestibilities, Ek Success scallop border punch.

The Challenge for last week, was to use an image from a holiday, but make it work for a different holiday. We DT ladies were asked to use Luck of the Irish, but we could not make it a St. Patrick's Day card. Now, that is a good challenge!!! So, I decided to color her up for Spring, and make an Easter card with it! The flower embellishments on the right hand side were made with something new that I found at a papercrafting store near Dayton, Ohio called Simply Scrapbooks. It is called a Glitter Sticker Sheet, but....the glitter doesn't rub off at all! So awesome! They told me that it works in a Cricket machine, but I am so not into the Cricket, so I thought, paper punches, manual di-cuts in my cuttlebug. Love it!!!! Here I used the Stampin Up Boho Blossoms punch. I do plan to use it with my di-cuts as well. So nice, all I had to do was pull off the backing and stick them on. All I can say is I want more colors!!!! The manufacturer's name is on the back and it is called Best Creations. Anyhoo, there are links to both websites if you want to know more click on their names, and you can find their phone numbers on them and see if maybe they can mail you some if you want.

Products that I used:

Cardstock~SU Whisper White, Lavender Lace, unknown DP Ink~SU Lavender Lace, SU markers Lavender Lace, Lovely Lilac, Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight, Prismacolor maker PM-122 Light Peach.

Accessories~Unknown ribbon, sticky gems from Michael's, Gem Brad from Making Memories, SU Boho Blossoms Punch, Best Creations Dark Lavender sticker sheet item #GS012, SU Word Window and Modern Label punches, Happy Easter rubber stamp from SU stamp set Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Come back tomorrow for some news about Soft Pencil Studios, and maybe a little something to give you inspiration.

Until Next time..................Blessings, Lisa

Soft Pencil Wednesday?

Yes, you read the title correctly, it is Soft Pencil Day on Wednesday! Actually, I am the only DT member that is posting on Wednesday. My computer caught a virus on Sunday evening, and I had to have a computer repair person come and remove it on Tuesday which was the soonest they could pencil my computer into their schedule. Thank heavens all is ok now and I didn't lose anything, all data, photos and digi images are in perfect shape. Yay! Anyhoo, I love my DT assignments and decided that even though I am late, I would post them anyways. So today I am showing you "Molly, Timmy and the baby chick".
This is what I created with it:

Yes, pink and green like last week. I love the designer paper sample that I had and that you are seeing on the card, so I had to use it again. I just couldn't help myself! I added my own polka dots to the eggs with some Smooch shimmer paint, and the image was colored with a combination of Prismacolor markers and stampin Up markers. Add a little ribbon from American Crafts, a button from the Michael's dollar spot for embellishment, and the punched out title and all done. I love simple sketches, they are clean but pretty.
Now, keep watching the Soft Pencil Blog and all of the DT blogs for another new release in April from Soft Pencil Studios. While you are at it, visit the other Soft Pencil DT blogs for more inspiration using this adorable image. I believe you can even find a cute project and tutorial on DT member Cat's blog.
Stay tuned to my blog tomorrow, as I am bringing you a delayed Stamp-n-doodle creation.
Until next time.......Blessings, Lisa

Soft Pencil Tuesday!!!!

Welcome back and Happy Tuesday to everyone! Today is Soft Pencil Studios Day, and we got to work with a very cute image called "Painting Eggs With Amy". Let me apologize first for my photo, the lighting in Ohio is terribly dismal today, and no matter what I tried to do to edit the photo, I just couldn't get the colors to shine bright enough! I will list the colors that I used below.

Here is a close-up that turned out a little better, at least you can see the sparkle of the Stickles glitter glue that I used. Anyhoo, isn't she adorable? Go visit the other DT members blogs to see what inspirational creations they designed, and then rush over to the SP store and pick up your copy of this little cutie!

Cardstock used~SU YoYo Yellow, Bashful Blue, Marina Mist. Background stamp is Hero Arts, and the sentiment is from the Su set called Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Now, I am off to go rest for a bit in hopes of getting rid of my Spring sinus attack. Why do I live in Ohio? Anyhoo, take care and until next time...............Blessings, Lisa

Soft Pencil Studio is Open!!!!!

Welcome to the official grand opening of Soft Pencil Studios! Elizabeth has been working really hard to create a new store, and some new images that you will love and have alot of fun using on your projects. She also has some new products coming up in the future, including some digi stickers, and others which she is keeping top secret at the moment. You can follow her store on Facebook, just type soft Pencil Studios in the search box after you log on. Also, here is a link to her new store.

Here is the first image we DT ladies are working with called "Happy Easter"!

Is it cute, or what? I am completely in love with it! Notice the glitter embellishments on the right side, these are something new that I recently found at Michael's craft store, they look like glitter brads, but are really glitter sticky dots. They come in a variety of colors too, so pretty in person. It was kind of a dreary day here in Ohio, so my poor natural light in my house doesn't do them justice in this photo.

Ok, stop on over to the other DT blogs and leave them some love for their hard work, and then off to the new store to check everything out!

Until next time...........................Blessings, Lisa

Soft Pencil Thursday Easter Card!

Hello. Yes, "Soft Pencil Thursday" is back here on "Inspired by Purple", at least for the month of April anyways. I will continue to use their designs and post them however even after my month as guest designer of the month is over. The image that we were requested to use this week is an Easter image that is soooooooooooo cute called "Painting Eggs w/ Michu & Ratiny". Michu has some oh so cute bunny ears on, and Ratiny seems to have fallen into a cracked egg. The challenge was open to whatever we wanted to make, so I challenged myself to get out an embellishment that I haven't used in quite a long time, ribbon. So, here is what I came up with:

Is that the cutest image, or what? I water colored it with some Stampin Up ink refills and a blender pen, cut it out with a rectangular Nestibility, and mounted it on a scalloped rectangle nestibility. I popped up each layer with a thin foam dimensional, and also popped up our two characters as well. The bunny border was made with a Martha Stewart Bunny border punch. The sentiment was typed out in Microsoft Word and printed, punched out with my SU Word Window Punch, and mounted on a piece of CS punched out with my SU Modern Label Punch. Some faux pink pearls from Michael's, and some Bazzil 1/4" ribbon to finish it off.

Yes, I am still working on my blog sidebar, and my Zibbet store is open, however no cards are listed in it for sale yet. I will post something on here to let you all know when it is officially open for business.

Until next time..............Blessings, Lisa

A "Just Rite" Easter card

About a year or so ago, I won a set of "Just Rite Stamps" as blog candy from Becca Feeken. Here blog can be found here and on my side bar. I forget the name of the set, but it is still for sale in their shop and it has something for every American holiday we have. Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Mother's day, Father's day, Valentine's Day, Birthday, Easter, etc... So, I decided to give the Easter stamp a try. I followed the card sketch from Splitcoast Stampers from last week or the week before. I am short on time, so please forgive me for not knowing exactly which sketch. I was excited about the sketch when I first saw it, but then when I made a card with it, I was no longer happy. Maybe I am just too critical of my own work. But never the less, here it is:

I used some "Die Cuts With A View" card stock (the green and white pearlescent textured), and the cute floral piece. The rest of the card stock is Stampin Up. Maybe it is the card stock, I am just not as happy with card stock if it is not Stampin Up, maybe because the colors don't coordinate as well together. Stampin Up's card stock is made to coordinate together and with it's designer patterned paper. I do however completely adore that stamp image, and had a blast coloring that cute little chickie. I hope you like it, even if I am not completely happy with it.

Anyhoo, please continue to excuse my blog dust, one of my buttons still isn't working if you click on it, and they don't appear to be the same size. It is a work in progress, two very busy ladies are working on them.

Come back and visit me tomorrow, for "Soft Pencil Thursday"! I am making something with the absolute cutest Easter digi image on the planet!

Until next time............ Blessings, Lisa

Inspirational Easter Card

Hello. I wanted to show you today an Easter card that I made that is more about the "reason for the season" as the saying goes. I used a stamp set from Stampin Up called "Abundant Hope". Here is a photo of the entire stamp set, it has a beautiful image of Daffodils, two sayings, and a fancy swirl image.

For the front of the card, I stamped the image on Watercolor paper, and colored it with Stampin Up ink refills dropped into the lid of the ink pad and I used a blender pen. The Designer paper is from a retired Simply Scrappin set, and the border was punched with SU's new Scalloped border punch. I cut out the image with an oval Spellbinder's Nestibility and mounted it onto Yoyo Yellow card stock cut out with a scalloped Oval Nestibility. The Sticky gems are from Michael's Craft Store, and the image is popped up a bit with some foam dimensionals from Stampin Up. The other card stock used is SU Garden Green, and Whisper White.

I decided to show you the inside of the card because I stamped the longer sentiment on the inside with the fancy swirl on the top and under the sentiment. Love that Swirl!

Now, this week is my first week back on the DT team over at Soft Pencil Designs, so among other things this week, I will be having "Soft Pencil Thursday" again for the month of April. I love working with Soft Pencil Designs, they are so adorable. I have another Easter card to show you tomorrow, with an oh so cute image that was a gift to me from a friend. I am still working on my blog remodeling, so keep excusing my dust.
So, until next time.............Blessings, Lisa

Bunnies in Windows

Hello. so sorry I am posting so late in the day, it is approx. 4pm here in Ohio, and very white outside. We had another winter storm, and my daughter's school closed for today. Urgh! They have missed so many days now, that they are going to have to add them on in June when the weather is awesome. Poor kids.

Anyhoo, I have a card to share today using Stampin Up's Eggcoutrements stamp set again. I decided to try a window card and see how I liked it. So, here is what I came up with:

I punched out 2 square windows, and stamped the bunny stamp, punched it out with my 1" circle punch, and placed them on the inside of the card. It is hard to tell in the photo, but I stamped the other two stamps with Melon Mambo ink on Pretty in Pink card stock. I know this is short, but I am off to do a family dinner thing with my in-laws. Please if you have any questions, leave me a comment, and I will add the answers to this post later.
Until next time..............Blessings, Lisa

One Blue Bunny!

Hello. Happy President's Day on Monday! I hope everyone had a fabulous Valentine's Day; and that none of you ladies had to cook dinner on Valentine's Day. I know I got taken out for dinner, and loved every minute of it! So, I have a photo of a new stamp set below from Stampin Up called "Eggcoutrements", that is so dog-gone adorable that I just had to have it. I assembled it as soon as I got it, sat down to work with it, went completely blank. So, I went to Splitcoast Stampers website, and every other website that I could think of to find samples to inspire me. Well, hardly anything could be found! Apparently everyone else either didn't buy it yet, or was just as confused as what to do with it as I was. I went to an SU upline meeting, and desperately wanted to make a swap sample with it to share and I made the most awful card as far as I was concerned. So, I decided not to share it on here. But, wouldn't you know, the next night after the meeting a couple of ideas came to my brain. Doesn't it always work that way? So, scroll down, and you will see one of them.
Tah dah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Simple, clean, and kind of cute! Who can resist that cute little bunny face! Why did I make one of them blue? Why not? I felt like it!

So, here is what I did. Several of the stamps in this set coordinate with Stampin Up's paper punches. The bunny goes with the 1" circle, the "For You on Easter" sentiment goes with the Designer Label Punch, the floral border stamp goes with the Scallop Edge Punch, the Easter Basket stamp goes with either the Small or Large Tag Punch (depending on whether or not you want a white border around the image), and the cute little Chickie doesn't coordinate with any punch. So, I stamped my bunnies, punched them with my 1" circle punch, then mounted them on shapes made with the Curly Label Punch, mounted them on some Kraft card stock, stamped my Happy Easter sentiment (Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set) in Lovely Lilac, rounded the corners of the card base with my SU 3/16" Corner Rounder punch and that was it. Pretty darn quick and easy.

As always; until next time.................... Blessings, Lisa

Cute Bunny

Ok, I found this absolutely adorable digi image over on Paper Craft Planet (see link on sidebar), and I got it free when I joined the group that I came from. It is free to join PCP, and any group that you are interested in. So, go over there and get some more free inspiration for your paper crafting hobby, and if you like the image, go get it too. The image is from a relatively new online digi image company called Phindy's Place. Click on her name to get to the blog, and there is a link on her blog to get to her store. So, here is the card that I made with the cute bunny image:

I printed the image out onto Watercolor paper, then colored it with Stampin Up Blender Pens and Watercolor Wonder Crayons. I am obviously still on my Purple and Yellow kick, sorry if this displease anyone. I just can't help myself! I am afraid I am not done with it yet either, I have another project started with those two colors on my table as we speak. Isn't it funny how we get stuck on something in our crafting sometimes, and use it until we are completely tired of it? It doesn't even have to be a color combo, maybe it's a certain type of embellishment or something. I say, go with whatever inspires you at the moment! Just sayin'! Ok, onward. Sorry for the babble. I used a card sketch that I found over on Splitcoast Stampers, in their forums section. Click here for that link. I believe I used SC254. It has a very clean and simple look to it, which is also something that I am into these days. The card stock used was Stampin Up's Lovely Lilac, Almost Amethyst, and the Patterned Paper is from the "English Garden collection from Making Memories". I used some Spelbinder's rectangle and scalloped rectangles to cut out my image, and some foam pop dots to pop it up a little.

Until Next Time........................... Blessings, Lisa
