Stamp n Doodle Thursday!

Happy Thursday to everyone! The Stamp-n-doodle image for today is called "Bear New Year", and it is a cute image of a bear couple out on a romantic date celebrating the New Year holiday! Now we DT members were challenged to use new Years theme, or do something new, etc....... I kind of did both. I definitely went with a New Year's theme! Anyhoo, here it is:

The white scalloped circle behind the image is actually the leftover from cutting out the mat behind the image! This is probably , technically nothing new, but I thought it was a good idea, so I went with it! I decided to give the image very little color, since I was going to use only black, white, silver and gold. I used some retired Stampin Up shimmer paint to color the balloons, some gold Smooch shimmer paint to color the candle, and a plain black marker to color the chairs. The SU shimmer paint was manufactured by Tsukineko (yes I had to look at the bottle to find out how to spell that, lol), so you might be able to find it online or in a store somewhere. The sentiment is from the stamp set called "Teeny Tiny Wishes" by Stampin Up, and the faux silver pearls are from Michael's craft store. So sorry I don't know where the card stock came from, it was part of a birthday present from a friend (thanks Kerry). Now, hop on over to the SND blog, and other DT blogs and see what great ideas are there to see. One last note, is that SND has a group over on the SNR Card Universe blog, so go over there and see even more samples with SND images. There is a link to that site over on my sidebar!

Please everyone have a very safe and happy New Years holiday!

Blessings, Lisa

Soft Pencil Tuesday!

Happy Tuesday to everyone! I hope everyone is having fabulous holidays, whichever ones you celebrate! I had a great Christmas. We are a bit tight on money, but my fabulous hubby still managed to get me an awesome present, and of course it was something that I can use in papercrafting. He got me one of those new Martha Stewart Punch all over the page punches! Not the border punches that allow you to punch the corners too, it is a single punch, that you can use in the middle of a sheet of 12 x12 scrapbook page if you want. I will have to play with it and show you what it can do, that is once I figure out what it can do. haha. Kidding, it looks easy, we shall see.

On to the business of today!!!!!! You all know by now that I absolutely love Soft Pencil images, this weeks image is no exception. It is called "Ratiny on a Cupcake"....it even sounds cute. Here is what I made with it:

Have you ever heard anyone in the papercrafting industry use the phrase "let your designer paper do the work for you"? Well, that is what I did with this image. I colored the image with some Prismacolor markers and some teal Smooch shimmer paint, cut it out with some Rectangle Nestibilities, and then went through my paper stash to see what I could find. I found the above cupcake paper that I thought would be perfect for the image. Yes, the strip on the left is part of the paper, not a real ribbon! So cool, don't ya think? I added my image, a punched out sentiment, some sticky gems, and all done. It was so easy.

Now, We DT members and the Soft Pencil Owner are taking a vacation during the month of January, but I understand that the Etsy store will still be open for you to purchase images from. Elizabeth is working very hard on new products and images and I imagine there will be an awesome grand re-opening when she is finished. I can't wait to see what she is working on!

To Elizabeth, thanks for a great year working with your adorable images and papers! I loved every minute of it, and look forward to working with your new products in 2011! Hugs! Lisa

To my blog readers, please keep checking back, I will still be posting cards, scrapbook pages, and anything else that I feel inspired to make during the month of January!

Blessings to all...............................Lisa

Stamp-N-Doodle Thursday

Hello everyone, happy Thursday to all of you! This week at Stamp-n-doodle we were asked to create something with an image called Snow Jamboree. It is a cute little image of some snow people playing music and singing Christmas songs. Please notice the adorable little bunnies and birds listening so intently, they are so cute. Here is what I came up with:

I used my prismacolor pencils to color the image, and I used some card stock from The Paper Company, Provocraft and DCWV. The ribbon source is unknown because it was given to me, and I popped up the image with some foam dimensionals. Of course I used my Spellbinder's Nestibilities circles to cut the image out. I am kind of bummed with the photo today, the blue card stock is pearlescent and that didn't show up on the photo, it looks cool in person.

Well, hop on over to the SND blog and the other DT ladies and see what they have created for you to see.

Still working on ornaments and my Zibbet store (urgh!).

Until next time......... Blessings, Lisa

Soft Pencil Tuesday!!!!

Yay, it is Soft Pencil Day! I make it no secret that Soft Pencil Day is my favorite day to blog, love her cute little images! I originally printed this weeks image out to put onto a card, but decided to alter a cardboard coaster with it instead to make an ornament. I get these packs of 6 coasters each at Michael's craft store, thinking I could do something paper craftery (I know, that is not a real word) with it. Well, all of a sudden the other day I came up with this Christmas ornament idea. So, watch my blog for some more ornaments in the next few days or so. Also, as soon as I finish this blog post, I am going to post this in my Zibbet store for sale.

So, first I colored Michu with my Prismacolor markers, then I added some Liquid Applique to the parts the Santa suit that are supposed to be fluffy. I let that dry overnight and then heated it with my heat gun. Next, I cut out my image with one of my circle nestibilities, and matted with my scalloped nestibilities. Then, I turned it upside down and used some tombo liquid glue to adhere the fringe fiber. Next I traced the coaster onto some card stock, and cut it out, adhered that to the coaster, then adhered the image to the coaster. The last thing was to cut a hole in the coaster with my crop-o-dile, and add the ribbon bow and loop to hang it with. The whole thing was so easy, run to your nearest Michael's and get some of these and make some for your self, or buy some from me. LOL. I have some others in the works with different images and colors, etc..... If you have an requests, send me an email (link on my sidebar).

Now, hop on over to the Soft Pencil blog and Etsy store and see what sales and cute images you can find there. Also, visit the other DT girls (links on my sidebar), and leave them some love for all of their hard work posting samples for you to get inspiration from!

Until next time...........Blessings, Lisa

P.S. Please excuse me, but I was unable to log-in to my Zibbet store, so stay tuned for updates on what is in there for sale! I may have to switch back to Etsy!

Stamp n Doodle Thursday!

Except that it is Friday!!!!! So sorry I am late this week, I have been crazy busy helping my daughter's school get ready for a winter dance/party. In fact, I am late getting there to help set up, so I will just tell you that we were asked to work with a 3-D template for an Elf Shoe this week. 3-D items are definitely not my specialty, so I hope all of you like it. I toiled a looooonnnggg time with this one. I didn't have any cute pom poms to put on it, so here is what I did:

Some cute x-mas striped paper, some fringe, some red flowers from Prima, and some faux silver pearls and voila it was decorated. The longest part was putting the shoe together, but it is so cute once you get it there. The top of the shoe is open and you can stuff candy canes in it, Hershey kisses, whatever you like, and it will look adorable on a table with your other Xmas decor. Now, hop on over to the Stamp-n-doodle blog (click on the icon on my sidebar_, and see what the other DT ladies have come up with for this cute little shoe.
Until next time........ Blessings, Lisa

Stamp n Doodle Thursday!

Welcome to Stamp-n-doodle Thursday! We were given an image of some caroling reindeer and asked to use that one or any other image that inspired us today. I chose the one that we were supposed to use last Thursday, because I was out of town for the holiday and didn't get to post with it. It is the cutest little critter under a big hat holding a snow shovel. I love this little guy, he is so cute! We got some snow flurries here in Ohio where I live and I felt inspired to use something snowy. So, look below, and enjoy the critter cuteness!

I used some smooch shimmer paint to color the hat and mittens, and the rest was colored with my prismacolor pencils. The card stock used is SU whisper White, DCWV shimmer blue, and an unknown patterned paper from my stash. The embellishments is a snowflake button from my button stash, sorry I can't remember where I got it from.

Hop on over to visit the other DT members and see what they came up with today, then go over to the SND blog (link on my sidebar), and see the wonderful Christmas and winter images they have to offer.

Until next time...........Blessings, Lisa

Soft Pencil Tuesday!

I must admit, I am a traditional Christmas color kind of girl, today's card with an adorable Christmas image from Soft Pencil is no exception.Do you see what I mean.......mostly red and green. Oh, I have stretched the boundaries before, and stepped out of my little traditional colored world, but you will find that I don't do that very often. I admire people who do, and when I see the non-traditional holiday colors on other people's creations, I like them. I even made a blue Valentine's card for my hubby last year. Anyhoo, it is hard to see in my photo, but I used some white flower soft on the snow that the two little girls are sitting in. Love that stuff!!!!!!! I have to wonder though, if I am using the wrong glue with it, because I am not happy with my handy work with it. So, I am taking a poll....Please tell me in your comment, what kind of glue do you use with Flower Soft?

Now, hop on over to the Soft Pencil Blog and Etsy store (link on my sidebar), and purchase some of the adorable digi images and other products that Elizabeth is offering. She is going to be re-designing her images, creating some new ones, etc.., so she has been running a big sale on tons of stuff at her Etsy store. Today, November 30th, is the last day of the sale, so move those fingers fast on your computer and get there to take advantage of the savings!!!!! Go, now!!!

Until next time........ Blessings, Lisa

Soft Pencil Tuesday!!!!

Happy Tuesday everyone! Is everyone here in the USA ready for a fabulous Thanksgiving meal? I get to eat two of them, one with my family (a rare occasion), and one with my husband's family! I am excited, I will also get to see two of my great nephews, which doesn't happen too often, and my 11 year old daughter is looking forward to entertaining her little cousins!

Anyhoo, lets see what Lisa has been doing with her Soft Pencil Images this week!!!! I have been a little under the weather this week, sinus drainage in the back of my throat has given me a sore throat (so much for my tonsils being taken out, haha), and a little bit of dizziness. I have been doing my best to rest as much as possible, but this is why I am so late today with my Soft Pencil post! Please forgive me everyone! We DT members got to work with an adorable new image called "Happy Sailors". I thought this image just screamed out Friendship! I colored the image mostly with my Stampin Up markers, but the sailors hair and rope were colored with a prismacolor marker. I remembered having some button embellishments of a nautical theme in my stash, so I added those to the card. I only wish they were all the same shade of blue, but I love them! I had so much fun with my Navy polka dot paper that I used on last week's image, I had to use it again! Hope you like it!

Next I have a Soft Pencil extra to share with you! I asked Elizabeth if she would make a Fall image of Michu jumping in a pile of leaves, and to my delight, she did, and offered it for free over on the Soft Pencil blog. I am also going to go load it up over on the Splitcoast Stampers website for Elizabeth, so you can pick it up there as well. Just go to the forums link at the top of the home page. If you have any trouble finding it at either location, feel free to click my email link requesting a copy.

Now, I colored the leaves with my Stampin Up Pastels (chalk), and Michu with a prismacolor marker. The strip of card stock is all I have left of that pattern (sniff, sniff) My fabulous friend and fellow DT member Kerry sent it to me. The card stock base is SU Crumb Cake, the rest is from DCWV. The ric rac is unknown from my stash. Of course the brown sticky gems were from Michael's. That sums it up for today!

Now, hop on over to the Soft Pencil blog and store, because they are having a big sale for the month of November, and then after the first of the year, Elizabeth will be opening a brand new store with lots of new images and other products for your crafting endeavors!!!!!!!! We DT members don't even know what all will be new! No fair!!!! I can't wait!!!!

Until next time.....Blessings, Lisa

Soft Pencil Tuesday!

Welcome back to Soft Pencil Tuesday! I have an adorable Christmas image to show you today. It is called "Merry Christmas". Here it is:
It is hard to see, but I used some white opal Liquid pearls on the snowflakes in the sky, and the ground all around the little house and tree were painted with SU's white shimmer paint. Unfortunately, I am not sure if they still carry it or not, but I do know that they are selling some Smooch Spritz this year that is shimmery. The navy polka dot paper is some retired SU dsp, and the white organdy ribbon is from Michael's dollar bin a long time ago.... Just a small bit of info on how I tied that bow, I actually cut a slit at the fold of the card base so feed the ribbon through, making it so much easier to tie the ribbon! Now, hop on over to visit the other DT members and see what cute creations they have come up with for today. Then....go visit the Soft Pencil store, as Elizabeth is offering an awesome sale for the month of November!!!!

Until next time....................Blessings, Lisa

Stamp n Doodle Thursday!

Hello. I hope Thursday find everyone well. I have a cute image from Stamp-n-doodle to show you today. It is SND's version of the three angels with one of them less than perfect! Too cute! We were challenged to use Lace, Sparkle, and mostly white! I had a little trouble with mostly white, but I used very light blue, is that close?

I colored the image with my Prismacolor Pencils except for the wings, they are covered in Stickles diamond. The blue behind the angels is a polar blue from DCWV, and I cut the image out with a Labels 6 di-cut from Spellbinder's. The pearls and lace are from Michale's, and the button is again from DCWV. I hope you like it, and I also hope you go visit the other DT blogs and the SND blog, all of which can be found as links over on my sidebar.

Until next time.............Blessings, Lisa

Soft Pencil Tuesday!

Welcome back to Soft Pencil Tuesday! It is the time of year when we start to look for Calendars for the new year approaching. Elizabeth has created and listed in her shop some new digi image calendars! Yay, love these! I created with it a new desk calendar for my craft/computer room. Here is a pic of the how the image arrives to you via your computer.
Here is a picture of what I did with it! Yes, since my craft room is decorated in shades of Purple, I had to go with that. I just couldn't help myself. LOL

I had a small clipboard from the Target clearance section laying around waiting for the perfect alteration project. So, I went to work on it! I also brought my image up onto my freebie photo editing software called "Gimp", made two copies of it. This way I could keep the original in it's original form. I trimmed one copy to show only the calendar, and the other to show only the kitty image. Then I copy and pasted them both into separate Microsoft Word files, and changed their size to suit my needs, then printed them out onto some card stock. I cut each monthly calendar out, individually so that I could stack them on top of each other, and the year date to mat and place on the clipboard by itself. I covered the clipboard with some retired Stampin Up Designer paper, using my extra tacky tape, as the clipboard had a really slick surface to it. Next I covered the edges of the clipboard with some Purple Pigment ink that I had laying around. Pigment Ink takes forever to dry, I hardly ever use it for that reason. My daughter was laughing at me in fact because I had to wipe purple ink from my hands three times while I was working on this. All that was left was to add my elements to the clipboard. The Butterflies were cut out with my SU/Sizzix Beautiful Butterflies embosslit and retired Lovely Lilac Card stock. I added the Purple Satin Ribbon bow to the top with my foam pop dots, and voila, it is finished.
Now, hop on over to visit the other DT ladies and see what they have done with their calendars today! Lots of creative ideas will be seen I am sure of that!
Until next time........Blessings, Lisa

Stamp-N-Doodle Thursday

Hello Peeps, I know it's late for me to be blogging today, but I will leave this post at the top of my blog for all day Friday as well. Last week we Stamp-n-doodle DT ladies had a sketch to work with for our card and image. Well, I didn't post last week, so I have two examples this week with that sketch to show you. I used the image from last week, and also the image for this week. I hope it provides you with double inspiration. Here is the sketch:
This one is this weeks image, a man and lady scarecrow. Aren't they cute? I love Fall images! For this card, I used Stampin Up's Crumb Cake for the card base, and the rest of the paper is from DCWV (Die Cuts With a View). The cute patterned paper with the funky leaves on it, was sent to me by my good Soft Pencil friend, Kerry! Thanks Kerry, you are too sweet to me! I used verious Stampin Up markers to color the image, a leaf punch from the Target dollar spot, and some ribbon that I found on sale last year or so at Hobby Lobby.
For this card using last week's SND image I used all Stampin Up card stock..... Bashful Blue, Almost Amethyst, Ballet Blue, and Whisper White. The sentiment was stamped in SU Ballet Blue ink. The bottom border was made with an EK Success punch called Scalloped Scallops of course the buttons in the corner were from DCWV with some retired SU silver string in them.

I hope everyone has a fabulous Friday and come back and visit me again, I am starting on my Christmas cards and all kinds of other things. You never know what I am going to post on here. Tee hee.
Before I go, I wanted to say a few words to a good friend of mine and a very sweet and kind lady who lost her beloved husband this past Sunday, Becca Feeken. Becca, was very supportive to me during a very sad time in my life and in fact encouraged me to start this blog. I am so very sorry to hear about her loss and Becca you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. May God Comfort you during this difficult time. If you want to see Becca's gorgeous paper crafting creations, please see the link on my sidebar; her blog is called "Amazing Paper Grace".
Until next time.................. Blessings, Lisa

Soft Pencil Tuesday!

Hello, and I am so glad that today is election day in the US! I am so tired of getting election phone call recordings! OK, now that i got that off my chest, onto some cuteness! Halloween is over, Fall is still in full swing, and Thanksgiving and Christmas are on their way! So, Soft Pencil Designs is releasing some new images, and today I am showing off one of their new Christmas images! This week, we are showing you "Little Dog and Christmas Tree". It is so cute! Nope, no Michu today, but never fear Michu fans, he will return on future Soft Pencil days. Little Dog needed some much needed attention, and doesn't he look cute under that tree? He looks like he is one of the presents.

I want to explain something to you, it's a bit of an apology. The watermark is located directly over the image on my card for a reason. I was doing some design work for Sugar Creek Hollow, and the owner received an email thanking her for her beautiful work, and the person actually told her that she was going to print out the card front multiple times, and adhere it to blank cards for quick Christmas cards. That is stealing folks! That is stealing from the image creator, and the card creator! So, to protect myself and the companies that I design for, I will from now on (unless the companies tell me not to), be placing my watermark directly over the image on my creations! A lot of people don't realize how much hard work goes into digi images, designing and blogging with them, etc from the company owners down to us DT members. So, I am deeply sorry, if this is bothersome to all of my blog followers but it is a necessity.
Moving on, please don't ask me where the designer paper came from, it has been in my stash for at least 2 years now, I think the brand is Provo Craft. The layout is simple though, so any Designer paper that color coordinates would look great! The ribbon is definitely unknown, sorry, and I just had to add some sticky gems to the Christmas Tree where all of the little circles and flowers were on the image. The sticky gems are mostly from Michael's Craft Store, they have a ton of them right now in loads of colors, some of them marked down! Run out and get some! LOL. The sentiment was typed on Microsoft Word and printed, and the flower is a Prima brand flower.
Now, rush right on over to the Soft Pencil blog and store (link on my sidebar), and check out all of the new stuff Elizabeth has loaded up on there, and grab some stuff that she has on sale! Go, right now! Soft Pencil Rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Until next time..........................Blessings, Lisa

Chi Chi Memories Day!

Happy Wednesday everyone! Today is my last post as a guest design team member for Chi Chi Memories! However, I love their images, so I will still be using them and posting what I make with them. The images that I used today are from their new set called "Autumn Memories". It is so adorable. You need to hop on over to their blog and store and check out the entire set! I used "Little Bear", and the tree from the tree and house image of that set.

To create the frame that the image is in, I used my Spellbinder's Scalloped Frame di-cut, and to make the border on the card base, I used a combination of my Stampin Up scalloped border punch and it's coordinating corner punch. The leaves by little Bear's feet were made with a leaf punch that I got at the Target dollar spot a couple of years ago.

Before I sign off, I just want to thank the owner of CCM, Natalie, for the opportunity to be a guest DT member, I had a wonderful time and I will keep using CCM images.

Until next time..... Blessings,

Tuesday, October 26, 2010

Hello and Happy Tuesday to everyone! Today is Soft Pencil Day! It is kind of a dark dreary, and very windy day here in Ohio. In fact, I just had to go shut all of my windows because it is now pouring down rain! Phew, the wind was blowing it in and getting my furniture wet. Yuck! However, the upside is that we so needed this rain, everything is brown and dead.

Anyhoo, We DT ladies got to work with the image called "Michu and the Cute Witch" this week! They are a cute pair , don't you think?
I went completely blank on how to design my card! So, I got out my designer paper and cutting tools, and thought....hmmmm...... circles. So, I cut out some circles at random sizes and voila, the card above was created! I then punched out a bat with my Martha Stewart bat punch, because I love it so much, and placed it on one of the circles. Of course I had some black sticky gems, so I had to add those. Love my sticky gems!

So, hop on over to the other DT member's blogs and the Soft Pencil blog and see what other cuteness you can find today! I promise, there will be lots of cuteness!

Until next time......... Blessings, Lisa

Stamp n Doodle Thursday!

Hello, and Happy Thursday! Yes, I am late today which seems to be the story of my life this week. Anyhoo, we Stamp-n-doodle design team members had an adorable Halloween image to work with this week. I forget the name, so I am going to go with Witch's Shoes. We were challenged to emboss, use a bat and add glitter. So, I tried heat embossing on a digi image for the first time, and I added glitter to the bat that I used! I had fun making this, I hope you enjoy looking at it.
I am not sure how other people heat emboss a digi image, but this is how I did it! The cool thing about heat embossing a digi image is that you can emboss only a portion of the image if you want to and not the whole image. I got out my Versamarker, and colored only the cat portion of the image with it. Then, I added fine, clear embossing powder to it shake off the excess and heat set with a heat gun. Of course, the awesome and shiny embossing did not show up very well on the photo! Urgh! I also used some embossed glittered designer paper on the card too. The bat was made with a Martha Stewart Bat punch, then I added some black glitter to it using my SU Glue pen. So, I went a little overboard with the embossing and glitter, but oh well, it was fun. Now, tomorrow (Friday) go over to the Stamp-n-doodle blog (click on the store logo on my sidebar), and see all of the DT creations with this adorable image and also visit their blogs and leave them some kind words for their hard work.

Until next time..............Blessings, Lisa

Chi Chi Memories Day!

More Chi Chi Memories Cuteness to share today! The image is called "Hugs", and isn't it cute?! It would look cute on so many things, a scrapbook page, a Mother's Day card or a birthday card for mom from her daughter.
Anyhoo, here is what I used to make this card: Stampin Up Lavender Lace and Pretty in Pink card stock, retired SU ribbon from the set Flirty, Sparkle brad from Michael's, Circle and Scallop Circle Spellbinder's Nestibilities, and Sizzix embossing folder from Thank You set #4. Hope you enjoy it's cuteness, and then head over to the CCM blog and store and see all of the other cute images they have to offer!

Until next time........Blessings,

Soft Pencil Tuesday!!!!

Hello, Happy Tuesday to every one of you! Have you ever had one of those days when you just can't seem to get our brain to work? That is me, today! First off, I completely forgot that today is Soft Pencil Day on my blog, I was thinking it was still Thursday! Then, I go to take a photo of my card for today and my camera batteries were dead, so I was scrambling around for batteries. I feel like asking the Lord for a re-start on the day! Anyhoo......Here is what I have for you today. Elizabeth of Soft Pencil created an absolutely adorable image of Michu the cat and Ratiny the mouse dressed up as mummies, and We DT members are SUPPOSED to create a Halloween card with it today! I tried to keep it cute and creepy at the same time! Didi I achieve that?

I used Stampin Up Crumb Cake for the card base, some of their retired but adorably creep Designer paper, some Sahara sand marker to color the image wit a little bit, a cute spider button from my stash, some sheer bacl ribbon from my stash centered with a black button from DCWV (die cuts with a view). Finished it up with a Happy Halloween sentiment from the "Teeny Tiny" stamp set form Stampin Up! Hope you like it, and I hope you go visit the other DT members blogs to see the cute creations that they have made this week!
Until Next time...........Blessings, Lisa

I am back with Stamp-n-doodle

Hello! I am so late today with Stamp-n-doodle, please accept my apologies everyone, especially the fabulously understanding Stamp-n-doodle peeps! We are showing off a Halloween image called "Dancing Queen". It is a hilarious image of a witch dancing with a silly mummy. I love it! We were also asked as a challenge to NOT use orange or black. Wow, that turned out to be harder than I thought it would be. My "Halloween" brain kept me going back to orange or black every time I wanted to do something with my creation. I did print the image in black, I hope that was ok. I finally decided to go with purple and green color scheme.
I colored the image with the following Stampin Up markers: Lovely Lilac, Lavender Lace, Elegant Eggplant Old Olive, Always Artichoke, and Sahara Sand on the mummy. Then, I cut it out with a square Spellbinder's Nestibility, and sponged some SU Going Gray ink around the two dancers. Then I ran one of my Halloween Cuttlebug embossing folders through, with some DCWV card stock, as it has a white center layer in it and I wanted to sand the raised portions a little bit. Then I added some dark purple ribbon from my stash (clearance section at Archiver's). My last thought was to put some tiny googlie eyes on the embossed areas of the background. that sums it up! Now, go visit the stamp-n-doodle blog tomorrow, to see if this image is offered to you for free! Go visit the other DT members and see what cute ideas they have come up with with this image! See my sidebar for links.

Now, since I am late with this post today, I shall leave it up all day tomorrow too at the top of my blog and post a Stampin Up card on Saturday instead of tomorrow.

Blessings, Lisa

ChiChi Memories Halloween!

Hello. Happy Wednesday to everyone! I am showing you another Halloween image from Chi Chi Memories today! It is one of two Ghost Puppets, and it is sooo cute!
I wanted to make it look like it was blowing in the wind like the puppet, so I added that interesting patterned paper that I found in my stash. Then I remembered that I had some white satin ghost ribbon in my stash too, so I added a little bit of that to add to the ghost theme that I had going. The clear sticky gems were a last minute thought. I love bling! That's about it, I love them simple and not too cluttered.

Now, hop on over to the CCM blog (link on my sidebar) and take a look at the absolutely adorable Fall themed image set that Natalie has recently added. It is sooo adorable!

See you back here on Thursday for Stamp-n-doodle, and Friday for a little bit of Stampin Up!

Blessings,

Soft Pencil Tuesday!!!!!

Hello, Welcome to Soft Pencil Tuesday! This week we DT members are showing you a Halloween image called "Happy Halloween". It has my two favorite SP characters Michu and Ratiny! Are they too cute, or what? Love them! I used a simple sketch from Splitcoast Stampers sketch challenges, it is SC 297. I have a love for simple sketches! I used some smooch shimmer paint on the stem of the pumpkin, but it doesn't show up on this photo. So, if you scroll down a bit, you will see a close up of the shimmer.

Stop by the Soft Pencil blog and the other DT members to see what cute samples that they have to show you.

Until next time......Blessings, Lisa

ChiChi Memories Halloween!

Hello. I am back and it is a Happy Wednesday! I love my Chi Chi Memories Wednesdays, their images are way to cute. They have a new set out full of Fall images, so hop on over to their blog and store to see it! I personally have my eye on the cute little bear carrying the big acorn! Too cute for words! Just look for the CCM logo on my sidebar and click on it!

Anyhoo.........I have a square card with some spooky Halloween candles on it to show you today. The candles are from the Halloween image set! Here is what I made:

To start with, CCM gives everyone a chance each week to win some free CCM images by hosting a sketch challenge, I am using sketch challenge CCM.SC#15 and the spooky candle image of the Halloween set for my card this week. If you have been following my blog for very long, then you know that I love all things that shimmer and sparkle, so I could not resist to use some of my black glitter card stock (from The Paper Company) for the two strips behind the image. Then, I decided to add some more to match that glitter by adding some Doodlebug Design fine black glitter to the melting top portions of the candles. Move that card around in the light, and it sparkles like crazy! I just wish my camera could capture it better. Anyhoo, the corner embellishments of course had to be sticky gems, I chose orange ones from Doodlebug Designs.

So, come back and visit me next Wednesday because I have one more Halloween image from CCM to show off to you!

Until next time......Blessings,

Soft Pencil Tuesday????

Yes, you read that correctly, Soft Pencil has moved to Tuesday, at least for October anyways.

We were asked to use the digi image called "Bride and Groom". I took one look at the image and thought hmmmmm........Pink! So here it is:

I decided to use a sketch that I used awhile back for the SP Mermaid image. Yes, I created this sketch layout myself. It just popped into my head one day. LOL. The paper behind the cute little Bride and Groom is an Iridescent Pink with a little texture to it. Oh my goodness is that paper hard to photograph! In the above photo you are seeing its lovely iridescent look. I also added some Diamond, stickles to the brides veil. Oh how I love stickles! I colored the image with me Prismacolor Pencils, the DSP is Basic Grey, and the sticky pink gems were from Archiver's I think.

Now, be sure to come back and visit me next Tuesday for another adorable Halloween image from Soft Pencil Designs. Go visit the other DT members and see what adorable projects they came up with this week.

Blessings, Lisa

Just to be different from my usuaL pattern of card crafting, I added a LittLe coLor and embeLLishments to the inside top fLap of the card. Trick or Treat

is the name of this week's Soft Pencil Image! It is so cute, just look at the details. The ponytail holders on the little girl are spiders! Too cute for words!

To go along with the spirit of the image, I decided to dig out some Stampin Up designer paper from a year or so ago, and show off those cute little bats in the image. Then, I remembered that I had a bat border punch from EK Success, and thought , hmm, I will use a couple of the leftover bats that fall out when you punch a border, that is what you are seeing on the tag. It is hard to tell in the photo, but the brad at the top of the tag is actually an orange rhinestone brad.

Now, hop on over to the Soft Pencil Blog and store and see all of the new goodies and Halloween stuff that Elizabeth has been adding over the past month or so.

If you are wondering what happened to Stamp-n-doodle, it is going to be late today, and will also be up on my blog all day tomorrow.

Until next time.......Blessings, Lisa

Sugar Creek Hollow

Happy Saturday to everyone, I hope your weekend is going well. Today, we DT members were asked to use the SCH image called "Lord of the Harvest". This is my favorite of the Fall images.

My card base is SU Crumb Cake, and the DSP is also from Stampin Up. The ribbon is from the SCH store, look under Crinkle Ribbon, there are a variety of colors to choose from, and they are all so pretty. The flowers are Prima and their pearl centers are from my stash of various manufacturers. I finished it all off with a little ink distressing (SU Creamy Caramel) around the image, the yellow DSP and the large flower. Be sure to come back and visit me next weekend, because we will be showing off some of the new Christmas/winter images through a blog hop! It will be lots of fun! Now, go visit the other DT members blogs and leave them some love for their hard work this week.

Unfortunately, I will not be posting anything tomorrow (Sunday or Monday), as I will be attending a funeral for my uncle who lost his battle with leukemia this past week. May God be with his family during this difficult time.

Until next time.... Blessings, Lisa

Soft Pencil Thursday!

Hello and welcome to Soft Pencil Thursday! This week, we DT ladies are working with an image called "My Best Friend". It is a very cute little girl sitting with her puppy. I was in one of my blue moods today, not the sad kind of blue, the color blue. So, I hope you like my monochromatic blue kind of creation for today.

So, is this image a cutie, or what? I am thinking that it would look great on a scrapbook page as well, with pictures of me and my childhood doggie. So, here is the supply list that I used: Splitcoast Stampers card sketch SC270, SU card stock Whisper White and Ballet Blue, DCWV card stock, light blue, patterned paper from Provo Craft, and Buttons from DCWV.

Until next time..... Blessings, Lisa

ChiChi Memories Halloween!

Hello, Happy Wednesday! I just can't get enough of these Chi Chi Memories Halloween images, they are so adorable. I still have a couple more of them to show off, so keep coming back each Wednesday to see what ideas I come up with.

I love this little bear too, Natalie, owner of CCM, puts this little guy in most of her images. I want to hug him. Anyhoo, I was having a creative block, and then decided to cut him out and place him on one of my Spellbinder's Labels Six di-cuts. then, I cut out another Label Six di-cut, cut it in half, and decided on the above layout. Of course I hadto add some bling, so I used my orange sticky gems by EK Success. Now, hop on over to the CCM store and blog, see my sidebar for a link, and see all of the cute images that they have to offer.

Until Thursday.............Blessings,

Sugar Creek Hollow Color Challenge

Hello, Happy Saturday to everyone! At Sugar Creek Hollow we DT members were asked to do a color challenge for our project this week. We were asked to use Vanilla, Black and Red! I loved this one, and thought it would be perfect for the spider web and spider images! Fun stuff for me this week. This one took a couple of days, because I used liquid glue and black fine glitter on the spider web, and Stampin Up crystal effects on the spider. So, I let them dry over night to be on the safe side.
The next day, I cut out the spider, sponged some black ink on the web, adhered the spider with some foam pop dots, and curled his legs up a little. You can see this a little better in the close-up photo below.

I sponged some black ink on the Red DSP to give it a creepy distressed look, and last, I added the Prima flowers and pearl centers.

Now, pop on over to the other DT members blogs and see what beautiful creations that they have made for you to see. Then, pop on over to the SCH blog and remember to leave a comment to the lovely ladies and the owner Tracy, we all work very hard on our creations and blogs. Share the love peeps! Also, don't forget to click onto the store link at the company blog and see the other fabulous images that SCH has, the new Fall and Halloween images are all awesome!

Well, I am off to enjoy a Saturday soccer game of my daughter, she is ready to win!

Until next time....................Blessings, Lisa

Halloween Peek a boo

is the name of the image we were asked to work with this week for Soft Pencil Designs. It is so cute and here is what I created with it:

I stepped out of my comfort zone with colors this week and worked with Teal, which is a color that I like, but I am just not used to working with it for some strange reason. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I am obsessed with the color purple. LOL. Anyways, I used my Martha Stewart Leaf border punch at the bottom of the card and added some SU Old Olive card stock on the inside so that it would show through the leaf openings. I was in a big hurry today taking this photo, so I couldn't seem to capture the orange gems very well, or the sentiment. I guess I was just having a bad camera day. Anyways, I had a lot of fun coloring this image, it is so cute. the rest of the Halloween images are just as adorable as this one, so hop on over to the Soft Pencil blog and store to take a peek at them, and we DT members will be showing samples of more of them in the upcoming weeks. Now, go visit the other DT ladies and leave them some love in appreciation of their hard work.
Until next time..........Blessings, Lisa

Stamp n Doodle Thursday!

Hello! Happy Thursday! The weekend is almost here! While we are waiting on that, here is my latest card creation made with the image of the week from Stamp-n-doodle.

I am not sure that I did the image justice, it is so detailed and pretty. I worked so hard at the grass, and still am not happy with the color that I ended up with. Please visit the SND blog tomorrow to see the image as it comes to you; before ugly grass is added by DT member. LOL

Anyways, the image seemed old fashioned to me, so I decided to go a little vintage with it. The card base is SU Kraft, or should I say Crumb Cake?! The tag was made with the spellbinder's Ribbon Tag Trio di cuts, and vanilla card stock. The patterned paper is Basic Gray, the ribbon is American Crafts, the brads are Stampin Up, and the sentiment is a stamp from the SU stamp set called Teeny Tiny Wishes. Oh, and of course the flowers are Prima brand; what else? I love those cute goats in the foreground of the image. once again, don't forget to stop over to the SND blog and store tomorrow to see the image plain, and to see if they offer it for free.!

Stop back here later today to see some new stuff from Soft Pencil Designs.

Until then.....................Blessings, Lisa

ChiChi Memories Halloween Images!

Hello, Happy Wednesday to everyone! I hope everyone is having a good week. I am having a very busy week of card making! Lets see, there is Chi Chi Memories, tomorrow I will show you some Soft Pencil and Stamp-n-doodle, Saturday I will be showing you more Sugar Creek Hollow, and I am also working on some extra stuff for Soft Pencil and their adorable Halloween Clip Art, and out of the kindness of my heart, I am working on a fall card for my old Stampin Up leader/friend for her to use for her upcoming workshop. Phew! Kidding, it's all fun.

Well, as you know, CCM has recently released a new Halloween stamp set, and I am going to show you a card made with another one of those images! It is the cutest owl with a witches hat on, "love it!". So, here it is:

Don't you want to reach out and touch this little owl? I think he is adorable! I colored him with my Stampin UP markers, then cut him out. I mounted him on some DCWV card stock, the purple layer is also DCWV (Die Cuts With a View). The patterned paper is unknown brand to me as it was a gift from a friend (Thanks Kerry). Of course the white card base is SU Whisper White. The sentiment is also a CCM image that comes with the Halloween set. The card layout is a sketch challenge over on Splitcoast Stampers; SC283. As always you can find the sketch challenges in their forums section of the website.

Now, hop on over to the CCM blog and store by clicking on one of the blinkies on my sidebar. I saw that they just released another new set of images called Tea Party and it is soooooo cute!

Until next time........Blessings, Lisa

ChiChi Memories Halloween Images!

Welcome back! Here is my big announcement that I mentioned this morning on my blog: I found this wonderful online Digi Image store (thanks to my good friend Kerry) called Chi Chi Memories. You may remember that I posted a couple of cards with their freebie image on previous posts in response to their weekly sketch challenges! Yay, you know how I love a sketch challenge! Well, they were looking for a couple of guest designers for September and October and yes, you guest it, I am one of the honored ones!!!!! They have such cute images, and they just recently released some Halloween images that I am so happy to be working with.
Here is the first one that I have the pleasure of creating with:

Batty cuteness, don't you think? The Sentiment also comes with the halloween image set. The nice thing also is that CCM images can be purchased as a set, or as singles! Awesome!!!

So, what products did I use to put this little Halloween cutie together? OK........

All card stock is Stampin Up: Yoyo Yellow, Night of Navy, Whisper White. the punched bat border at the bottom is EK Success, the bats on the tag were made with a Martha Stewart Punch, The tag was actually made with a tag template that I have had around for years, the fiber on the tag is EK Success, and I colored the images with my cool grey Berol Prismacolor Pencils. Oh and the moon under the bat was cut with one of my Spellbinder's Nestibilities Circle di-cuts.

Now, look over on my sidebar to find the links to the other DT members blogs, and the CCM blog and store! You have got to go see all of their images, they are adorable.

Oh, and don't forget that today I also made a post with Sugar Creek Hollow images, please scroll down for that one and visit those DT members also, they make some amazing creations!

Until next time........ Blessings, Lisa
