Thanksgiving cards

Hello. I decided to make a couple more Thanksgiving cards before it was too late to get them mailed out. I hope you like them.

The first card uses a stamp from Just Rite Stamp Co. I got it in a set that I won as blog candy over on Becca Feeken's blog. I must admit, their stamps are fun to use, but a little too expensive for me at the present time. I was very fortunate to win this set, it has something for almost every holiday we celebrate here in the USA. I punched the image out with a circle punch, then mounted it on some SU card stock that I cut with one of my Scalloped Circle Nestibilities. It is popped up with a foam dimensional and colored with Stampin Up Markers. The card base is Stampin Up's Certainly Celery, and the DSP is Really Rust from SU's 6x6 Patterns Pack III. The Orange Rectangular gems are from my stash and are made by EK Success. There is also a sentiment inside that simply says, "Happy Thanksgiving" which is from Stampin UP's Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.

The second card has a digital image and sentiment from Whimsie Doodles digital stamp Co. Melyssa who designs and owns Whimsie Doodles (see my side bar)is such a great artist, her images are so adorable. I colored this chubby turkey with Stampin Up markers, cut it out, then decided that I would rather have it on a rectangle (what a waste of time cutting it out). The yellow strip at the bottom is Stampin Up's Crushed Curry cs, and is stamped with SU's Woodgrain Background stamp with Crushed Curry ink. The three rectangles of DSP are also Really Rust and come from SU Pattern Pack III. I cut out the sentiment and brushed it many times on the Crushed Curry ink pad to get that look that you see. The final touch was of course some bling which was in my stash and from Michael's. I love bling!

If you need a Thanksgiving stamp, I highly recommend the turkey image in the current Stampin Up Mini Catalog. Scroll down and you will see a card that I made with it.

Until next time..................Blessings, Lisa

Starfish Birthday Card

I was over on Splitcoast Stampers and found that the wonderful lady who owns McMahon Five Designs online store had posted some free digital images to color and place on paper crafting projects. Great advertising tool for her. I sent her an email to thank her, and she said that if I put her company logo on my blog, then every time someone clicks it and purchases something from her store, I get to earn a discount. So, I said great, sure I can do that and I will also make something with one of her freebies and post it on my blog, and over at splitcoast. So, here I am: I used her Starfish freebie, and made a cute birthday card for a child or an adult with a silly sense of humor. So, here it is:

Is that starfish hilarious or what? His big grin made me giggle. The sentiment is from Whimsie Doodles digi images. Both McMahon Five and Whimsie Doodles are on my sidebar, so you can click on over to their Stores/Blogs from there.

Well, I colored Mr. starfish with Stampin Up markers Cameo Coral and Ruby Red, then cut him out with one of my Spellbinder's Square Nestibilities. The card base is SU Cameo Coral, the blue panels are from Provo Craft, the buttons are from DCWV, the fibers on the buttons is EK Success Adornments, and I punched the sentiment out with my Stampin Up Designer Label Punch and cut off the round parts with my paper snips. Didn't the world used to call them "small scissors"? Funny how the paper crafting world changed the names of tools so that they are in "paper crafting language". Here is another: Liquid glue is actually "liquid adhesive" in the paper crafting world. If you can think of any more, drop me a comment, it will give me a giggle. Even if you can't think of any drop me a comment, I love hear from my viewers.

Have a great weekend. Blessings, Lisa

Patience From Whimsey Doodles

Is who this little girl on my card is. Her name is Patience, and she is a digital image stamp from Whimsey Doodles online stamp company. A link to their store and blog is on my sidebar if you want to see more of their cute images. I printed Patience out with my ink jet printer onto some Georgia Pacific card stock that can be purchased at Wal Mart in the office supplies section. The reason that I didn't use Stampin Up's Whisper White, is that the ink jet printer ink smears on that card stock when I am coloring a digital image. So for digital images only, I use the GP card stock.

You all know that I like Purple, so here is Patience in purple:

Is she too cute or what? After I printed her out, I colored her with my Stampin Up markers and blending pens, then cut her out and placed her on a square cut with a Spellbinder's large square nestibility with SU Almost Amethyst card stock. She has a bit of SU Elegant Eggplant punched with the scallop edge punch sitting behind her. The purple flowered vellum paper under her is from my unknown stash, and the sentiment is also from Whimsey Doodles from their "Button Sentiments" set; which I adorned with a satin Prima flower, DCWV button, and some EK Success purple fibers. That about sums it up. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions, and have a great week. I'll be back soon. Blessings, Lisa

Whimsie Turtle is Missing You

Hello. I just had to play with this adorable Whimsie Doodle Stamps Turtle again. I thought since she is whimsical looking, than she should be surrounded by something whimsical. Here is what I came up with:

So, I looked through all of my cutting tools, and my Creative Memories Wavy Frames cutting tools stood out. So, as you can see, I cut the turtle out and matted it in a square shape, but then cut out a second mat with one of my Wavy Frames, and adhered the image on it. Then I cut a skinny frame from the same shape, applied my Stampin Up 2-way Glue Pen, and some Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, then adhered the skinny frame in no particular position.

The turtle was colored with Stampin Up markers, and the tiny red flowers are some Jolees that I had in my stash. The sentiment is from Hero Arts and is mounted on some wavy square punches. The ribbon is from Making Memories, the eyelets are from Stampin Up, and the sticky gems are from Michael's. Any questions, feel free to click the contact me on my sidebar and send me an email. Blessing, Lisa

This Turtle is....

too cute for words. Check her out:

This is from a new online stamp company called Whimsie Doodles. Right now, she is only offering digital images that can be re-sized to you liking and printed out onto card stock and placed on cards. I don't know if she has any plans for selling rubber stamped images or not, maybe she doesn't know yet either. However, this image was offered totally free, and if you click here; you can go to her blog and download it for free and find out what digital stamps are all about. You can also browse her store, if you click on the icon that says "the store". Her name is Melyssa and she designed her images herself including this cute turtle. Ok, on with what I did with this cute little turtle.

I re sized the image so that I could place it on a card made with Stampin Up's Big Shot/Sissix die cut...Large Scallop Die. I placed two of the scallop circles together, scored them both at the same time and completely covered the small area above the scored line with snail adhesive, thus making it into a card. Next I cut the turtle out with my Creative Memories Circle Shape cutters, and also a matting for my turtle out of some Stampin Up card stock. Next I colored in the turtle with my Stampin Up classic ink ink and blender pens. I chose to do this by squeezing my ink pad together, thus placing ink inside the lid to use. You can also place a drop of ink into the lid with a re-inker in you choose. Next, I sponged a little bit of SU Certainly celery on the edges of the circle that my turtle is on and then adhered it to the matting. Next, I sponged some SU Pink Passion ink around the edges of the scallop circle card base, drug the edges of the scallops along the ink pad, and adhered my image to the card base. The last thing that I did was to add some embellishments to the card. All of the flowers are Prima flowers, and the flower centers are sticky gems from Michael's. Then the final thing was to add some Stickles Glitter Glue to the rose that the turtle is holding. I hope you like it as much as I had fun making it. Until next time, take care......................Lisa
